Nostalgia

Liberty National where this Presidents Cup is being played was built on a "former" toxic waste dump/marsh/swamp/wetlands adjacent to the Hudson River in Jersey City.

Old stomping ground. Essentially the course is at one end of Danforth Ave. At the other end are houses and apartments where used to stand Roosevelt Stadium - a former minor league ballpark that in the 70s was a venue for some of the greatest rock concerts ever performed. I spent a couple college summers working in a factory on Danforth between the two (now also houses), and attended a few great concerts like the Greatful Dead, Allman Brothers, and Pink Floyd at Roosevelt. Good times.

But that was long before there was the slightest hint of gentrification in Jersey City.
