Lol BG has two good rebounding games and now shes back at the top! Liz has the crown best center in the WNBA.

If the league paid the players more she would.

Two totally different players, and though dividing into categories can be helpful, not all of them should have the same weight.

If we're playing tonight, I'll take Cambage. If we're talking about the WNBA over the next five years, I'll take Brittney.

But the question was who has the better skills, not who has the best commitment to the WNBA.

1. Overall ability to score at will - BG

2. Back-to-the basket post moves - BG

3. Mid-range jump shooting - BG
.
4. Three-point shooting - Liz

5. Driving to the rim from the high post or perimeter - Liz

5. Running the floor on offense and back on defense - BG

7. Rebounding - Liz

8. Passing - BG

9. Making smart ball control decisions and not turning it over - Liz

10. Overall individual and team defense - BG

11. Shot blocking - BG

12. Team leadership and good chemistry promoter - BG

13. Whining - Liz

But this covered more finesse skills. Imo, Liz is more of a muscle player. She’s gonna get the rebound, and score..because she’s gonna muscle her way to the basket.

Who I would take would depend on who else is on the team.

Cambage has a 2 RPG advantage over Griner - 9.8 v. 7.8* could you explain this selection.

* Only 1.8 RPG better than Courtney Williams, a players at least one foot shorter.

That was a mistake on my part. I accidentally put that there. Most great posts are better rebounders than BG Laughing

I’m not so sure about that. And also, it’s still a growing league. To get better pay, popularity needs to increase, and for that to happen, you need star players. Penny Taylor, Lauren Jackson, DeSouza, etc. all hand no trouble dedicating their time to growing the league. I have no problem with acknowledging her skills, but don’t herald her above everyone else for having one good season.

I think that Cambage proved with this season and her stats that her overall ability to score at will is higher then Griners. She is the most dominant scorer of the 2 so i wonder why people think BG has this one on her? Or is it only mercury bias?

Do people know the different fieldgoal percentages from further out?

According to lynxdata, Cambage shoots better within 10 feet while Griner has the advantage from 10+ range.

Seeing as Cambage has scored more points, at a better percentage, in far fewer minutes, against more defence, from more places on the floor than Griner, then yeah I'd have to agree with you. Maybe some people place a very high value on free throw percentage.

Merc bias sprinkled with Liz hate bc shes not committed to a league she has no obligations to play in.

There's a Merc bias on this board? And towards Griner of all people??

Do you know what the difference in free throw shooting is also?

Two legit heavyweights. Griner has the reach advantage, but if Cambage can get inside she'll bust her up. I'd guess Griner by decision.

Despite Liz making more 3 pointers than Griner...Brittney appears to be the better overall shooter.

11-15 Feet:
C:16 37 .432
G:49 86 .570

16-21 Feet:

C:13 36 .361
G:20 48 .417

21-26 Feet:
C:9 31 .290
G:1 3 .333

27+ Feet:
C:1 3 .333
G:0 1 .000

Griner's also a better FT shooter...80.3% to 73.7%.

Based on this season,Cambage > Griner....But if Griner plays motivated basketball...Griner > Cambage......Griner has the ability to dominate both sides of the basketball. This is just one of the reason why I don't want to face Phoenix in the first round.

Phoenix can match Cambage with Griner.
Phoenix has a legit defensive PG to put on Diggins.
Then there's Taurasi and Bonner.

I'd rather face LA or Connecticut.........LA has no matchup for Cambage and Connecticut is young and unproven in the playoffs.

What are their numbers going head to head this year? Too lazy to look it up

Head to Head this season:

Cambage:13.6p/5.0r/2.6a/1.3b/44%/69%/2-3 from 3 pt range

Griner---:17.3p/5.0r/1.0a/2.3b/45%/80%

3 game stats in order:

Cambage:
18/9/7-14
10/3/4-9
13/3/4-11

Griner:

13/7/4-12
18/5/8-15
21/3/8-17

After Liz got the better of Griner in the season opener...Griner stepped her game up in the last two meetings...This is why I don't want to see a motivated Griner/Mercury in the playoffs.....Dallas' only hope would be Johnson/Stevens exposing Phoenix at the PF position/getting Bonner in foul trouble.
