so

Mitchell/January
DT/Turner/Wright
Bonner/Talbot
Lyttle/Little
Griner/Gulich

Is it possible with 7 vets PX couldn't afford a 12th player? at least not for a full season?

I wonder what the deal is with Angel Robinson.

That doesn't look like a team that can compete for a championship to me. Good, but not great. And one injury away from disaster.

Looks pretty good to me, if Bonner is her old self. Turner has been in beast mode overseas. Gulich looked decent in preseason. Better starting PF this season. Nice depth at PG.

I would think someone would claim Musina off waivers. If she isn't coming yet, you can suspend her. Maybe she never shows, but at this point you aren't really losing anything by taking the chance.

Phoenix waiving her seems weird.

I basically agree with both of you. It looks "pretty good" to me too, meaning it should comfortably clear .500, and maybe due to the apparent lack of super teams this season it gets mentioned in the top group, but I don't see a championship contender unless Taurasi & Bonner turn back the clock, and BG turns forward the clock. Probability: tiny.
(other possibility: LA & Minny both get crippled by injury, and no other team steps up this season. Probabality: also tiny)

Yes it does.

I read that someone said that Musina was having visa issues and that they couldnt suspend her because of that so they waived her instead.

Does anyone know if thats true?

I suspect PHX learned they only had cap space for 11 and were hoping Musina would allow for suspension, but she said ‘no dice’. Just my guess though.

I know it might be too late in the game, but I wonder if Agler would consider picking up Musina. Keep the Russian teammates together. Make them happy.

I've seen people say it but not, y'know, an actual journalist or anyone with anything sourced. Am yet to hear from anyone reliable on what actually happened there.

Can you not suspend someone who has visa problems?

I've never heard of any special rules for it, but obviously it's an unusual situation. But that said, if they're allowed to full-season-suspend her, it's hard to understand why Phoenix would've cut her instead.

The Phoenix Suns won the 1st pick in the NBA draft last night for the first time in the franchise history. Their good luck charm? (Apparently the NBA teams bring one to the lottery) An autographed photo of DT and Griner, the Mercury's #1 picks.

Any chance Phoenix adds a 12th player to sure up the front court? Russell? Larkins?

Personally, if we are going to have Wright on the team, I’d rather swap her for the likes of Faris or Samulson.

My view is if PHX could afford 12 players, why would they cut Cannon? Didn’t she play in preseason games?

Imani Wright waived.

Does that mean a mystery signing is coming up?

The addition of Robinson brings the Mercury’s current roster to 11 players, following the waiving of Imani Wright.

Marie Gulich, welcome to never seeing the floor outside of garbage time.

(or maybe occasionally when Griner gets herself tossed)
