Let's go, Candace! Use some painkiller on that ankle, wrap it up and ball out! Let's wrap the series up as quickly as possible!

Undefeated to the two previous games I went to. One pre-season in 2014 and one playoff against Minnesota in 2015. Excited to see this game in person.

Hoping for a game with more flow and less ref involvement tonight. DT will be on a mission after a career playoff low, and BG is going to get hers. We just need to stay home on FLB. Mercury don't win this game without a key role player stepping up. FLB? Currie? Turner? Cannon?

Let's get it Sparks.

Obscure Rules Question for the day :

Late in the 4th, Griner had her shooting hand on the ball and her off hand on the ball too, ball above her shoulders, she pivots, Nneka had bodied right up on her, elbow collides. Foul on Griner.

Shaq had a problem with getting this called on him, but the NBA rules were (still are?) actually in his favor. And it took him a multi year campaign to get it clarified. As in Not a foul on Shaq.

So is the WNBA using the NBA's version of this rule?
It'd make a difference in Griner's favor for sure.

I remember in the 2013 NCAA Tournament against Louisville, there was a play BG had inadvertent contact above the shoulders of a Louisville player. Walz was screaming for a review as it was an elbow "above the shoulders" Mulkey made the point on the sidelines that everything BG does is going to be above the opposing player's shoulders. BG is difficult to officiate for sure. I still believe that she takes way physical punishment than if she were a 6'3 center.

They'll draw 20,000 while the Sparks will get half that. That's why.

How did they mess up the fouls for LA? Parker should have 2 and Nneka 1.

Well, you can tell Gray has played with Parker for two seasons....all she does is bitch at the officials.

It's absurd if they can review everything else but can't correct a bad foul call against the wrong player.

interesting that Talbot has gone from starting to not getting on the floor. Seems a bit extreme.

Sandy, Why is BG not getting a touch??

Phoenix will not win without her getting the ball. I'm done already

It's because DT sits for way too long. I understand why her substitution patterns are like this during the season, but these are the playoffs and Diana shouldn't be sitting for almost 4 minutes of game time.

It sure was. And then the few fouls they call on Phoenix are actually wiping out baskets that are right after the foul.

The officiating isn't the only thing that is screwed up. I went to the play by play to check the time on the first basket by Parker which certainly appeared to be after the 24 second clock ran out. The times are completely messed up for the first two minutes. I'm not sure if they ever went back and checked the video but it is one more example of the WNBA not running a first class operation. I wonder if the play by play issue at the scorer's table contributed to the mistake on the Parker foul, or if it was a way of covering up the 24 second violation. Either way, really bad form.

I would really like it if we could
Figure out how to keep Grindr down low from the start of the game. Switch..play zone..anything..don't have her guarding Parker at the three point line.

SMH at DT, one play she's over acting on the bump from Carson (with Michell tryna get refs to review) lol, then in the next play she dribbles wildly and then runs right into Nneka! 🙄

Phoenix needs a better supporting cast.

Traded Williams for Bone without giving her a chance to play Rolling Eyes

Traded Harrison for Robinson without seeing what Harrison had to offer.(I thought this was a good trade at the time, but I was clearly wrong)

I feel the same thing will happen with Prince......ironically,Prince's best game of the season was against the sparks:9p/3r/2a/1b/4-6fg/1-1 3ptfg in 17 minutes.

Talbot and George have given the mercury absolutely nothing.
