Spooner, I seem to remember you making Mabrey a first rounder on a previous attempt, and I wasn’t too happy about that.

Mariya Moore most likely not that high. I would think Gustafson would go higher. If I remember right, she was the country’s leading scorer last year. I’m hoping Anriel Howard goes second round because that’s where Minnesota has three second round picks to do some scooping. She might go higher now that she’s on Mississippi St with McCowan. Little on the short side but doesn’t play like it. I think she’ll translate, but I’ll be studying her more to be sure.

I had NY taking Mabrey in the 2nd round with the contingency that they got one of the bigs in the first round

The Liberty should make a play for Gulich....She has great upside.

2nd rd pick,Allen, and Rodgers for Gulich.

Zahui B or Stokes for Gulich.

Is Zahui B a free agent at the end of this season?

RFA. Where’s her early season extension like Stokes got?

I like Paris Kea. She plays on a helter skelter team so it's unclear if her excessive TOs are from players going the wrong way or are just plain mistakes. I've watched enough to think it's not an irreparable problem and her positive qualities, which is pretty much everything else, are pretty outstanding. I think she would be a great add for a team like the Mystics. She and Atkins could be a long-term dynamic athletic backcourt. She wouldn't be a bad fit for Atlanta either.

+1 Myrtle her size worries me though.

I believe Stokes got an extension before the season though I could be wrong. But I believe it was before her injured foot.

Based on my posted draft

Boyd/Hartley
Durr/Zellous/Rodgers or Prince
Nurse/NRE
Charles/Zahui B/FA
Stokes/Anigwe

My more fun one

Boyd/ Hartley
Zellous/ prince or Rodgers/ Marbrey
Nurse/ NRE
Charles/ ZAhui B/FA
McCowan or Brown/Stokes

One for the other point of view

Boyd/Kea
Nurse/Hartley/prince or ROdgers
KLS or Collier/Zellous
Charles/ NRE
Zahui b/ STokes/FA

Unless we win out, this will be the worst season in Liberty history topping the ill-fated 2006 & 2013 seasons when we finished 11-23. Do we even win one more game? Five games left, let's see how badly we finish out the season.

Liberty should sign a rookie for the final week to lock them in for next season. They're on the road for the final week and if Zellous & Prince decide to not do the trip, they would qualify for the exemption.

A great article by Queenie on Swish Appeal about the future of the Liberty. A great read.

Thanks so much, toad455, for posting this outstanding, wonderful, painful piece. Thanks so much, Queenie, for writing this. I wish I had answers.

I paid for two tickets today and ate them specifically because I didn't want to make the Metro North trip. Why take the time and pay the money for this? I'm not too worried about losing the Liberty because of the NY aspect. Plus the backlash Dolan would get from women's groups. But I do have to seriously consider if I can do the season ticket thing again if the accurately described train wreck isn't partially remedied. I think we've seen clear evidence how much a defensive paint presence means to a franchise. We've seen it all throughout the high and lows of Stokes as well as her injuries. I do think a legitimate paint presence would make them immediately competitive again. Maybe more. If good, consistent coaching accompanies it.

Staying with the future team cause present is a little sad.

Is Anriel. Howard someone to keep an eye on for the second or third round.

She 5 11 but was second only to McCowan in rebounding in the SEC. Could she be an option for us at SF is she similar to Nayo or G. Williams?

Where did see that player mentioned, Spooner?

No. Howard won't help, especially if you need outside shooting.

Smith said following the game against Atlanta on Sunday she feels comfortable calling the job she did this year “decent.” She spoke of practice, preparation and game-planning as three areas she definitely had no problem handling.

Next year?

“It will be learning more of how to play and who to play in certain situations,” Smith admitted.

Decent? This was the worst season in Liberty history. Terrible is more like it. Historic even.
