Competitors like to win, and in a team sport, competition builds bonds.
That said, watch a good pickup game, and there's a lot of emotion. Doesn't mean anything the next time, though ...

Dallas plays well against Phoenix. Cambage vs. Griner. I think that's their likely opponent. I'd assume this will be moved to 8pm EST unless the Sun are the #6 seed. But I'm seeing the Sparks-Lynx as the other first round game and being played at 10pm EST.

We play better against LA. They always seem to light a fire under us , Id rather play the sparks.

just my cynical view:
So, Liz is talked into coming back to the W to play.
Organizationally, this Dallas club isn't the same mess as it was in Tulsa.
But, despite having personal success, it still is....a mess.
Bad Coaching.
GM/HC screaming matches.
Losing streaks.
Losing games they had no business losing.
Mediocre pay. (I'll take it for <5 months of work tho')
Commercial travel
Crap officiating.
Crap scheduling.

If Thornton is out for Tuesday's first round game, I don't think the Wings stand a chance. She does all the little things for this team. Maybe they bring in Muldrow? Chong?

So If Hill, Davis, Thorton, and KCK are all out that leaves
Diggins-Smith/Romero
Gray
Stevens
G. Johnson/George
Cambaage/Plaisance
and they don't seem to like playing Romero so Chong looks like the easy go to choice, this would allow you to play Skylar both on and off the ball. Colson just got signed in Minn if they don't want Chong would someone like B. Hoskins be a possibility. Shoni? Goodwyn?
unless they are looking for a little more offense or think they can play Johnson and Stevens at the SF spot and want a little more size you have the other 2 late camp cuts in Lewis and Hamblin, bring back Akhator? If they just want someone to line up against Griner when Cambage is on the bench Hamson?
Who else is out there that is a scorer maybe a 2/3 kind of player, maybe they pull an Aussie rabbit out of their hat and get O'Hea or the naturalized Griffin to come over? Could Philips just suit up? j/k S. Thomas? Gwathmey? Burdick? R. Gray?

I'd think wing, personally. You've already got the desperation backup PG in Romero if absolutely necessary (and Skylar's gonna play 38 minutes in the playoffs anyway), and a bunch of backup bigs that they already don't really want to use. Even Glory and Stevens are a bit of a stretch guarding 3s. So I ended up at someone like Burdick as well (Asia Taylor would've worked if Pokey hadn't signed her and then glued her to the bench in Indiana). Gwathmey was with Puerto Rico looking towards the Worlds last I heard, and anyone non-American might have visa issues they don't have time for. Jordan Hooper? She'd chuck up some threes while everyone collapsed on Cambage, and play no defense to fit right in at the other end.
It mostly depends on who the hell is available at very short notice, which is impossible to tell from the outside. |

It will most likely be a player familiar with the system. Dont have enough time to incorporate someone new and have them be an assett. Interesting that you brought up Hooper.

LouConn should be around by the time they pick, I think she would be a good fit on the team. |

Ill take it. She better hit some damn shots. Its like since she left Penn State she hasn't been that "Specialist" we all assumed. Idk if id rather have hooper. Shes more of a 3pt specialists in my eyes but her defense was terrible so i understand the different look for the different coach.

She was brought in to basically shoot threes. I'm also assuming this means Hill is out as well.
PG: Diggins/Romero
SG: Gray/Lucas
SF: Thornton/[Stevens/Gray]
PF: Stevens/Johnson/George
C: Cambage/Plaisance
IR: Davis, Hill, Christmas

At least you count on Lucas to be in WNBA game shape at any time. Gym rat.

I wonder if Dallas remembers this game two years ago.
