You can keep both Chong and Goodwin but you have to go thin in the post

Digging-Smith/Chong/Goodwin
Gray/Davis
Christmas-Kelly/Powers
Johnson/ Thorton/Stevens
Cambage/ Plaisance

Or trade Davis for a future asset slide Goodwin to the two and keep an additional post

I don’t think that’d be worth it to them, Spooner.

Sad thing is I don’t think either of them would get picked up.

Maybe NYL should wise up about Boyd. Start fresh.

The only height that is correct is that one from Liz Laughing

Unless Hamblin grew two inches since college and Cambage is really 6'9", then Stevens and Butler are maybe 6'4" and Plaisance 6'3" when she stretches. And that's if Hamblin's 6'6" is closer to 6'7" than 6'6". Teams shouldn't post these pictures because they must know the height police will be looking. Very Happy

Between the little bit of slouching and slight knee bend, I think you can add a good couple of inches to Stevens.

I would hope the more versatile Thornton would win the PF because then if Plaisance ever does return, you could push players up a spot.

Diggins/(Chong vs Goodwin)
AGray/Powers/Davis
Christmas-Kelly/Thornton
GJohnson/Stevens/Plaisance(when healthy)
Cambage/(Hamblin vs Lewis vs Butler)

I guess in my last breakdown, I had them as a possibility. Is it telling that the author left Butler out of the picture?

Looking back, he says “bigs like Breanna Lewis and Ruth Hamblin“. Maybe the author forgot about Butler or doesn’t see her as a serious enough contender to name.

Ive actually heard that Butler has outperformed and looked better than Hamblin , Lewis & Ahkator so far in camp. Im rooting for Natalie!

I have long thought that Liz was probably 6'9".

She looks pretty close in height to Butler. Listed 6'6" Azura Stevens standing back to back with listed 6'5" Natalie Butler:

Or she is legitimately listed at her actual height, while all the other players get a "roster-listing boost".

Either way i think we converted from the smallest team in the league to the biggest in one off season.

Hughes should pick up whichever of the true bigs (not counting Akhator as a true big) get cut. Storm desperately need height and somebody behind Paris.

Is Paris the assumed starter? It might end up being Langhorne again.

Lewis was awful last season and Hamblin's just generally terrible. I'm not convinced the off-cuts from this lot will be the best available, even if the only qualification is 'big'.

Seems as though Thornton , Lewis , Davis , Stevens and hamlin played majority Minutes.

1st cuts id say

Hamlin or Goodwin . Chong with 0 turnovers , goodwin with 5 TO's . Hurts to say because i want Goodwin on the team but i dont want those TO's.

I wouldn't go by the boxscore in terms of minutes.

Cuts:
"If I were the coach" - let the Goodwin/Chong competition go down to the wire. They offer two different types of game. Goodwin did herself no favors today by the stats, but she is a make things happen dynamic player. Chong already knows the system and player tendencies, right now it's in her favor. Goodwin will need to catch the coaches eye with better stats.
The bigs: Coach needs a good look at all three, Lewis, Hamblin, Butler, guessing he will give each a long look in the 3 preseason games, Lewis got her long look today. By stats, I didn't see enough to choose.
I am still not sure how Akhator can make the team unless suspending Plaisance, but I like her athleticism. Come on, Evelyn, make the coaches decision tough. Bring game!
How bout that Azura?

Dallas isn't going to just cut Akhator only because she was the #3 pick. They'll let her ride the bench and she if she improves or trade her for something.

PG: Diggins/Chong/Goodwin
SG: Davis/Gray
SF: Christmas/Powers
PF: Johnson/Stevens/Thornton
C: Cambage/Akhator
SUSP: Plaisance

That center combo is not a good one. Id rather have Lewis or Butler backing up Cambage while T is out.
