This has the makings of a fun team to watch in 2018. A lot of potential athleticism if Coates, Deshields and Williams are the additions. New building that looks like it's a pretty good home-court environment as well.

Good for Bulgak. Not sure if Montgomery has a shot if they draft Williams and DeSheilds.

Montgomery gives them another wing option, a bit like a defensive version of Hooper (significant flaws, but can fill a hole when necessary). Still wondering about the balance of the roster. They've got three point guards (Sloot, Faulkner, Epps); only one real off-guard (Quigley), but with Copper and likely at least one of the draft picks offering depth behind her; Copper, Hooper, Montgomery and again the draft pick(s) for the other wing spot; ????? at the 4 (Bulgak? Cheyenne Parker? A rookie? Coates and Dolson playing together?); and then Dolson and Coates at the 5.

I thought Jessica Breland was pretty mediocre last season, but losing her for nothing leaves a pretty glaring hole (especially without any bigs worth taking at 3-4 based on general opinion - unless you think Gabby Williams can immediately play pro power forward).

I wonder if Stocks would start G. Williams at PF?

PG: Vandersloot/Faulkner
SG: Quigley/Montgomery
SF: Copper/DeSheilds/Hooper
PF: Williams/Bulgak
C: Dolson/Coates/Parker

I think Cheyenne Parker's a much better choice there. They've technically filled their main rotation and can go in many directions with those picks.

Williams can play defensively against a number of players...but I still think she will have trouble against the big tough gals in the post. I'm trying to see her guarding Tina/Stokes or Nneka/Parker or Fowles/Brunson, etc.... Her athleticism will get her some steals but if they get the ball in the post, there's no way she can stop them from scoring. Now if she gets on a team with the right combination of SF, PF where she can play defense on SF on one end and offense at PF on the other, that would be ideal. Her skill as a facilitator is pretty remarkable...but she clearly needs more offensively minded players around her.

So, ironically enough, if she could be playing alongside Elena Delle Donne.

Well, 'filled'. They have a grand total of one post who's ever done a damn thing at WNBA level. Someone like Lynetta Kizer might get 10mpg off Minnesota's bench - she'd be the dead cert starter at the 4 for Chicago.

Yes, hence the term "technically."

It does at least from Chicago's point of view make the #3 and #4 for #1 rumor make sense.

Sloot/Faulkner
Quigley/A. Montgomery/Epps
Copper/Hooper
Wilson/Parker/Bulgak
Dolson/Coates

or maybe they will try Dolson back at the four spot even though it didn't really work out with Stafford-McGhee but maybe they blame that on Stafford-McGhee.

Not sure the trade works so well for SA, unless they really like Harrison

lets say DD, and G. Williams at 3/4

Plum/Jefferson
McBride/Deshields
Young/G. Williams
Harrison/Dos Santos
Bone/Swords

and you've still got Coffey, Hamby, Burdick, Colson, Holmes and #13 to fill out the last two spots.

Signed Alex Montgomery. She's a 3 or F primarily, not really a 2.

Now, this brings into question having Cooper, who Stock likes Hooper and Montgomery at the 3 with two Draft picks on the way.

Stock must be looking at a 2, whereas it is was questionable whether she'd take both DeShields and Williams, if both were available. Does she know Mitchell will be coming available or is she looking at taking Brown or Nurse should Mitchell be taken by Indiana?

I'm guessing Montgomery received a guaranteed contract but don't know. Anyone know?

It makes sense for every team to want to have Wilson on the roster. I would love to have her on my team.

She's not perfect, but she remains the clear #1. I agree any team would like to have her.

There goes there shortage of posts (but are any of them 4's?). Would they like Imani back for the 4 now? Would complete the set.

Here are highlights from a game Coates was in. She’s looking pretty good at this level, although these clips rarely show mistakes.

At 2:40 you can see her blocking a shot near the three point line and taking it the distance.

With Ndour back, it's looking more like:

PG: Vandersloot/Faulkner
SG: Quigley/DeShields
SF: Copper/Williams
PF: Parker/Bulgak/Ndour
C: Dolson/Coates
12th: Hooper/Montgomery
