My six keys to this game:

1."The Referees"-Dallas lead the league in FT attempts during the regular season.Will they get the same calls in a postseason game on the road ?---Will Delle donne get the superstar treatment ?

2.The "Dynamic Duo"-Will Diggins/Johnson play up to their ability ?

3.Who controls the rebounding ?

4."Role players"-The wings have 6 role players capable of scoring 10 or more points.

5.The "Big 3"-Will Toliver/Meesseman step up,and give Washington a legit 2nd & 3rd option ?

6.Will coach Williams make the right in game adjustments in a timely manner ?


My prediction:Dallas wins by 5-7 points.

Matchups favor the Mystics

1. Post/paint defense - K.Thomas elite defender & rebounder, Emma & EDD = TALL vs. Plaisance/G.Johnson/K.Christmas-Kelly
2. Backcourt defense - TRP = elite defender, KTO average vs Skyler/A.Gray both slightly above average (this is the weakest advantage)
3. Scoring - EDD,Emma, KTO vs Skyler/G.Johnson + whoever

1. Plaisance will not go off vs Mystics defense (too much height & mobility)
2. Wings have nobody to stop EDD/Emma
3. Wings have to hit >50% from outside to have a fighting chance

This will come down to whether the Mystics can actually convince themselves to play defense for 40 minutes.

Yeah, where was that "elite" defense during that 32 point Dallas 2nd quarter?
That defense is slow as balls, so if they go up against a quick team that can cause deflections on defense, it's off to the races.

As I'm sure you are aware, EDD was just coming back and the team was newly without Cloud. It takes EDD and Emma awhile to get used to each other so both can maximize what they do instead of get in each others' way. I'm not guaranteeing a Mystics win, but they should put away the Wings IMHO. If Krystal Thomas could hit the broad side of the barn more than once or twice per game, Mystics odds increase.

Given that the last 2 games we've seen the team play was needing 37 points from Delle Donne to beat the #8 seed and whatever the Lynx game was supposed to be, yes, you could say that.

Being the underdog makes me a bit more comfortable though. As does the fact that Cloud should be back for the game.

This sums up the Dallas fortune. They have too many gunners who don't pass the ball to the open player. Xmas, Powers and Davis are prime examples. And a little D will go a long way.

Paris will most likely be in foul trouble early and the officials will have three fouls called on Johnson before the game even begins.

Shut down Toliver threes and don't foul EDD: there's no one that can block her shot anyways and she's most likely going to make the basket- so why give her the extra point. Try to limit her touches.

When Latta comes into the game, don't let her shoot threes. Twisted Evil

It shouldn't be on League Pass unless they've changed some policy for the playoffs (which has never happened in previous years). You can check the archives to see if they still show up. The archives have been showing up for me instantly after a game is over.
