This is a variation on the game of Hypothetical Merger, which no one has ever wanted to play this century on any WBB board.

Ne'rtheless:

The game is to form two 10-player teams and to predict which would win in a seven game series.

The first team combines the Lynx and the Sparks into one 10 player team, and tell us who those players would be.

The second team is any 10 players from all the rest of the WNBA, and who they would be.

Can the rest of the WNBA beat the Sparks-Lynx in the series?

I'm just doing this off of the top of my head, so don't everybody get mad if I left someone off.

Lynx + Sparks

Moore
Fowles
Parker
Nneka
Gray
Whalen
Sims
Augustus
Lavender
Brunson

Everybody Else
Griner
Charles
Delle Donne
Angel
Tuarasi
J. Jones
Vandersloot
Bird
Diggins
Stewart

Other possibles - Loyd, Hayes, J. Thomas A. Thomas, Quigley

I think the two teams would probably be pretty evenly matched. Might come down to the coaches, Reeve or Agler vs. Thibault, Lambier or Miller perhaps.

There is plenty of talent on both teams - but talent is a necessary, but not sufficient condition for winning as has been proven time and time again.

WNBA rosters are allowed to have eleven players, so I don't know why we're limiting the rosters to ten; I no-sold that restriction. And I'm taking the field, by the way.

Ha good one, or say call them the SPhYNX (the h is silent).

Sims as small guard mostly on track record. Then Monty + Bebe.
Beard is the perfect compliment to any 2 of Whalen, Augustus + Moore.
Gray relative to Augustus' D, perhaps good enough D with Moore sometimes.
Parker Nneka + Fowles, plus a smidge of breathers.
edit that's 9 + coach's preference

vs

1) ... DigginsS, January + Sloot. Maybe Toliver on track record.
2) ... Loyd , JThomas + Quigley
3) ... Angel , Hayes + TRP on D as a wild card
4) ... Stewart , EDD + Charles
5) ... Griner , get-that-JONQ-outa-here
edit whittle it down on health, availability, tough cuts, coach weirdness, etc

It'd be a good old fashioned Donnybrook.
