It's probably Syl, but I would love to see Beard win it.

Have to go with Beard. She has been outstanding this season. Shutting down PG's, SG's or SF's it doesnt matter.

That shouldn't matter, but it might. Not sure what the history of voter fatigue looks like when determining DPOY.

Also, individual player DRtg is one of the worst stats out there.

I'd like to see Beard win the Kim Perrott Award, but if she doesn't (or even if she does) it would be nice to see her win DPOY.

I'd be fine with just Finals MVP.

Yeah Jasmine Thomas is better IMO. Who else do you have above her?

Disagree; watching them day in and day out, AT covers three, fours, fives, and occasionally a two. Very diversified skill set.

It's essentially 3s and 4s, maybe the occasional 5 with no post game like a Plaisance. The rest is on switches. But I grant you, being able to guard post and perimeter is a useful skill (and I've been disappointed by how few teams have actually tried to attack her inside, but maybe that's because they don't see it as a weakness). Defense at the initial point of attack is also very important though, as LA have illustrated with Beard and Sims the last couple of years.

I wouldn't be surprised if both Thomases get all-defense votes.

Essentially, splitting hairs. Throw Courtney Williams into the mix too.

Always the most difficult award to judge ... so many variables.

The only way to do it right is to analyze game film for every game for every player while talking to a coach from the team so you know what they were trying to do defensively on every possession.

Minnesota and LA have the two best defensive efficiencies in the league with Minnesota being ridiculously good. NY and CT have each clawed their way up in those ratings as well. Beard does so much for LA and I think with the Lynx having such a good mark you gotta have Fowles in that mix. So I think for DPOY it's gotta be either Fowles or AB.

That said, Alyssa Thomas has seriously improved her defense this year and both Thomases should make either first or second all defense teams IMO. For NY, I honestly think Tina has been NY's most consistent D player this year and should be first team defense as well. Kiah has been excellent in the second half but her lackluster first half eliminates her. D.C. has been a pretty good defensive team as well so I feel like TRP and Krystal Thomas will be in the mix for first or second team also.
