Terrible article with little truth. This season has not been anything close to a resounding success the author is trumpeting. Not a failure but absolutely nothing to brag about. Attendance is flat at best, tv ratings are down significantly (including the all star game the author was bragging about) and twitter is not a profitable platform. With Vegas having no NBA team to share some of the operating costs and demand tepid at best I find it difficult to see anyone willing to pony up the money for a franchise in Vegas. Not to mention that will dilute the TV money when even the NBA linked teams are having a hard time breaking even. Sorry to sound like a jerk but when I see tripe like this posing as professional journalism it grinds my gears. Talk about the downfall of a once proud profession.

I want to wait and see how the NFL & NHL do there first before even thinking of bringing a WNBA franchise there.

A good start for expansion would be if this guy would include all 12 WNBA teams, not just 9.

Vegas just so I can vacation there for a few games and a few casinos.

Not that I've been there, but you can't do a vacation at the Mohegan Sun, which is also a hotel-casino?

Much as I would personally like to see a team in Las Vegas, I haven't seen too much interest in women's basketball. The city is wonderful for hosting tournaments as there is no better place for a two or three day vacation at a reasonable price. I would love to see a preseason doubleheader featuring Phoenix, LA, Seattle and Minnesota playing two games each in two nights. But for now I don't believe a team that would start in Vegas would stay in Vegas.

Vegas SOUNDS nice, but agreed, that market isn't quite ripe enough. Better spots would be reactivation of ceased teams in Houston, Portland, and Orlando followed by possible expansion sites in Milwaukee (to rival Minnesota), San Diego, San Antonio (LOL just kidding, don't throw things!), and Boston (to rival New York).

All of the times I've been to Vegas, seems like women aren't valued more than having them dance on table tops in casinos and walking around in bikinis taking pics with tourists. Having empowered women hooping for a living would be like the ultimate slap in the face to the atmosphere down there..UNLV women's team doesn't ever draw good. I remember one Thanksgiving break we were down there and they offered free admission to games and didn't even break 300 for attendance.

I've said before that the league should target former successful cities. Houston, Sacramento, Portland & Cleveland should all be looked at to possibly return. There's also San Francisco(Warriors) & Tennessee as better options over Las Vegas.

I really don't know what you are talking about. I personally attended a lingerie basketball league game in Las Vegas and I thought the women were all treated with all the dignity and decorum they deserved.
