I can defeat LP blackouts of Liberty games by using the VPN function in the Opera browser plus a few other procedures.
As I dimly understand VPN's, they route your internet path through remote servers so that websites (like LP) don't see your real IP address but rather some geographically remote one. I'm guessing that LP decides whether to blackout a user depending upon the geographic IP address it sees when you initially log on to LP.
Here's what's been successful for me, being in the Liberty blackout area for both home and away games, presumably because MSG has Liberty broadcast rights where I live.
1. Log my computer OFF from LP via Firefox, my usual browser. Close Firefox.
2. Open the Opera browser, which I like for a lot of reasons including a built-in VPN function that can be toggled on or off.
3. Go into Opera's private mode to block all cookies.
4. Toggle on Opera's VPN mode and select Singapore, Netherlands, Canada, etc., as my IP location -- I'm not sure it matters which.
5. Log on to LP via Opera and launch it.
6. LP will then let me select the otherwise blacked out Liberty game and try to load it. BUT the game won't, or takes forever to, actually load. I just get a loading spinning wheel. I speculate that the communication path is just too slow as it's being routed around the globe.
7. So, I then just switch off the VPN mode.
8. Then reload the LP page. Voila. The game almost immediately finishes loading and I can watch it like any non-blacked out game.
I assume I can finish loading by switching off VPN because I'm then connected via my normal geographic path, but that LP doesn't re-check my IP once I reload the page -- i.e., that it only checks my IP address upon initial login, which was via a remote, non-blacked out VPN IP address.
I suppose you could do this same thing through standalone VPN services or apps, but I know nothing about them.
Of course, once Big Sister reads this thread . . . . |

No. I know nothing about Linux. I run on a Windows laptop.
Opera is a relatively slim and speedy browser that also includes a built-in ad blocker. |

I use one of the bigger VPN services -- Private Internet Access (PIA). It got me around Liberty games last season, but it's not working this year. Prior to that, I used my work VPN but then I retired. I wonder if the league has made a point of blocking the known big VPNs and they just don't know about the function in Opera.

I must be lucky I have not been blacked out on either League Pass or NBA TV.I looked to see if MSG network was available for the game with SAS and I was blacked out for that.
