Quote:
“What better way to celebrate this team, this area that has embraced this team, than by having an All-Star Game here?” asked Augustus, who almost certainly will be chosen for her seventh All-Star team when reserves are announced Tuesday.

Turns out she and the Lynx are in complete agreement.

I wonder if there will be an ASG in 2018? Maybe the Lynx will get it for 2019. The schedule will likely be compressed due to the Worlds at the end of September.

If they want it, they should absolutely get it. Minneapolis is one of two WNBA cities I have never been too - might be time to remedy that.

Assuming we have an ASG in 2018, my next three choices are:

2018: Minnesota
2019: Los Angeles
2020: no game, Olympics
2021: New York(25th anniversary)

Why wouldn't we? Had one in 2014. Remember Schimmel? All Star game gets skipped in Olympics years.

I'm surprised Los Angeles hasn't hosted an ASG after all these years!

Well considering their previous owners, I'm not. I hope Magic & Co. submit for the 2019 game.

As long as you're not an aussie, anyway.

Bad cops everywhere. And good ones, too. This shooting was just a crazy weird event. Even bad cops don't usually shoot from inside the car right past a partner! Can you imagine being the cop driving and being deafened by your partner shooting right past you in an enclosed space? And suddenly a woman in her pajamas is dying. I can't fathom why this happened. I wonder if the cop who shot was somehow not okay well before it all happened.

I know the Dream aren't a huge draw but I'd like to see Atlanta get an all-star game soon too. I mean, they've been to what, three consecutive finals a few years ago, has a great team once McCoughtry returns and it would be good to showcase the league and an all-star game in a city that isn't a big attendance draw. Let's show the people of Atlanta what they've been missing. Maybe an all-star game there would boost regular season attendance.

The team that should get the next All Star team is Los Angeles. Getting the game there should be the leagues next priority. I heard that booking Staples Center is hard enough for 17 home games as it is. Staples Center is booked solid every single night of the year I believe. So squeezing in an all-star game would be tough.

We'll see how Philips looks when the renovations are done. I know the owners have talked about bidding for it.

If LA doesn't want it in 2019, more power to Atlanta if they're interested.
