For what it's worth, the longer I coach, the less I worry about conditioning.

When teams break down late, it's much more mental than physical. And how many WNBA players get seriously fatigued by playing 32 minutes of basketball? They get fatigued by travel and the yearly grind, but the minutes on the court aren't really the issue.

And then if you add in the kind of practices people think are needed "to get in top shape," now you have players who are really fatigued.

To me, sleep is the best conditioner for athletes at this level.

I'd say the Sun are one of the most fit teams stamina wise. But as a whole, when you add in Rachel Banham and Danielle Adams, both of whom are not athletic AT ALL, it keeps the Sun from being THE fittest teams.

But when you look at Jasmine Thomas, ALyssa Thomas, Lynetta Kizer, Morgan Tuck, Courtney Williams and Jonquel Jones....that might make up for those two...Kayla and BJones are certainly not in bad shape...but the others are very defined.

"Fit" and "athletic" are not synonymous.

I don't think Banham is unfit, regardless of whether she is athletic or not.

Kizer and Tuck are not in the greatest shape IMO

What's this tell you, Laimbeer?

With Fergie as my witness, you need to work on your fitness.

I don't know if they are the most fit team but Atlanta has to be the fastest team in the league.

I need a new damned prescription; every time I see this thread, before my brain processes what I'm looking at, there's always a half-second where my eyes are trying to tell my brain that it says "Most lit team."

Went with Dallas. Wild stallions in need of a trainer.

My mind kind of drifts between the US and British interpretations of "fit" when I see this thread title.
The former is hard for us to speculate on. Maybe WNBA.com should include VO2Max in the player profiles. The British interpretation is easier to judge visually, but considerably more subjective.

They are! And we always seem to get them as part of a back-to-back package every freaking year! Tiffany Hayes is one of the fastest and most explosive players in the league. I believe she is Alana's toughest opponent to guard athletically.

It seems like they released Meighan Simmons, another road runner; so the Dream got a little slower. Say what you want about her chukking balls, but the late Pat Summit did not call her "Speedy" for nothing.

Now that I think about it, I believe that I might actually be more interested in finding out which WNBA team is the most lit.
