She's as personally unpopular and as bad a campaigner as Hillary Clinton, and she aligned herself with the highly-unpopular-in-Britain Donald Trump. The outcome of that combination is predictable.

So it's looking like her calling for early elections in order to get a bigger majority is going to end up as nearly as big a blunder and miscalculation as Cameron's calling for a Brexit referendum. It's looking like the Conservatives are going to lose their majority tonight.

Analysts and UK politicians are saying that May ran the worst campaign in modern British history.

Can't wait to hear the idiotic comments that will inevitably flow out of the White House tonight over this as the socialist Jeremy Corbyn kicks May's ass. Corbyn may be able to form the new government.

Let's see, Germany's leader thinks Trump's a buffoon, France's charismatic young leader ignores him, and now he may have to deal with a hostile leader of Britain too.

And we become even more isolated in the world.

I wouldn't exactly call her 'aligned' with Trump. And frankly, I wish HE had the balls she did, to call for a new election!! Razz Laughing

Theresa May has formed an alliance with the Northern Ireland Democratic Unionist Party (10 seats). The DUP opposes same-sex marriage, and is anti-abortion.

This is the party founded by Ian Paisley.

And they also are firmly against the "hard Brexit" that May has been pursuing.

This should be a fascinating marriage of convenience.

Arlene Foster, the leader of the DUP, was just on BBC giving a press conference. I was watching her thinking "I wonder if the BBC has ever sent a team to cover one of her press conferences before."

Overnight they've gone from "what's the DUP" to the kingmakers. A level of power they have never enjoyed beyond the borders of Northern Ireland.

I find it curious that the pitch for May, the woman who just caused chaos, to remain PM is that she brings "stability". Really?

You may recall that in between killing Catholics, Paisley was a gay-bashing Evangelical Protestant minister who among other things received an honorary degree from Bob Jones University.
