Congrats Dr. Ali Bales! Another Duke alum from the Coach G era becomes an MD. Off the top of my head, there's Ali, Georgia Schweitzer Beasley and Emily Waner. Plus Physicians's Assistant Krista Gingrich.

Also Jess Foley, who started Medical School in Australia while still being a professional basketball player. That ended, but for those of you who did not know, she was still player-coaching a team in the local Adelaide team.
Georgia Schweitzer leading her Med School intramural volleyball team at Duke was very frightening to watch for people who were just trying to play casually. |

Congrats to Dr. Bales!
If I'm not mistaken, I believe both of her parents are also doctors. True?

According to the article her mother is an MD and head of the School of Medicine. Not sure about her father.
