I learned from FanDuel that Aneika is out with a foot injury. Seems like the same story from last year.

The joy of American sports that reward being terrible.

A friend of mine finds it endlessly amusing that most US sports are utterly communist in their set-up. Let's help everyone out and try to make everyone equal! No, you can't choose your own employer, you must go where we tell you for the good of the whole! Meanwhile, Russian sports are dominated by whichever team can pay the most money...

The Sky won too many games last year so they missed out getting any good players with their first round pick at #9, like Kaela Davis or Sydney Wiese. Therefore they have to lose as many games as possible to get a top pick next year. Smile

Nope, I can't fault fans who root for their teams to best exploit the system.

I'm not hatin' the playas, just the game Wink.

I made that point about the NFL a couple of years ago and people jumped on me. They can't seem to separate the billions made on football from the method of distribution. Look at the revenue sharing, especially of TV money. That last idea originated with Wellington Mara, which is why he was so revered by fellow owners. He put the interest of the league before his own, sharing that original TV contract even though the television people mostly wanted the Giants. Whether you want to call it communist or socialist, it certainly isn't capitalist. Baseball is the most free market of the major sports, and it is regularly pilloried for favoring large markets. So yes, the ordinary American sports fan is more of a communist than he or she thinks.

I don't see Asja Wilson as a Maya Moore or Breanna Stewart superstar level talent.

I don't either, but more like a Taj McWilliams-Franklin type player.

I'm still confused as to why Jankoska and Cooper were cut when Sloot and Quigs aren't even back yet.

Also shocked that the Dolson/Boyette experiment continues to not work.

Really, couldn't the Sky have kept them another week? Maybe the Sky change their starters when Sloot is inserted into the line up.

I don't get it either. Getting cut must be worse for those two when they see Chicago playing games with 10 players. Stocks felt the team would be better with them not in the building.

Stocks referred to Dolson as an all-star, as if she has to start her. But neither is a 4. Not familiar with their #2 pick, but I think she was a #5 in college and she is built like one.

The announcer mentions that Tamera Young is entering her 10th season. I just checked her playerfile and Stocks didn't start her one of the games this year.
