Jewell Loyd, the 187th player in WNBA history to score 1000 points! Gold Mamba is 23 years, 228 days old. She is the 12th youngest to score 1000. She took 71 games to score 1000, tied with Alana Beard, Taj McWilliams, and Nneka Ogwumike for 31st fastest ever. She is the 1st player from the class of 2015 to score 1000!
She would be the fastest to 2000 if she got there in her next 19 games.

I'll ask the obvious question you're teasing: How many games would it take her to be the slowest to reach 2000? |

Currently that mark belongs to Coco Miller, who took 342 games to reach 2000 points.
Four players have gotten to 1000 faster than Loyd without reaching 2000. Three of them are active (Skylar Diggins, Brittney Griner, Odyssey Sims). Candice Wiggins is the other.

So Loyd can be the fastest to reach 2000 if she averages 52.6 PPG for the next 19 games, and can be the slowest if she averages 3.68 PPG for the next 272 games.
Hmmm . . . hard to say which is more likely. |

The three players she tied with at 71 games to reach 1000 averaged 70 games to go from 1000 to 2000,

Both are obviously tiny to the point of being virtually zero, but the second is probably more likely. Averaging 53ppg is pretty much impossible. If she got injured and came back a shadow of herself, and ended up a limited-minute backup - i.e. accelerated to the end years of Wiggins's career much faster - then the slow route is very mildly plausible.
Reaching it at a normal pace or not reaching it at all (due to injury) are obviously both much more likely. |
