In watching and observing other the years, some players are very charismatic people - funny in interviews, or interesting to talk to, or just very interesting people period. You feel instantly at ease with them. You want to know more about them almost immediately.

Other players don't have that gift. They are bad interviews, unable to elaborate a response beyond a few brief syllables. Or are cranky in general, or just dull. That says nothing about them as persons, merely that either don't grab your interest or worse, make you disinterested in them.

If you had to put together a team of current players (at positions 1 through 5):

* who would be your all-charisma team?
* could you come up with a first or second all-charisma team?
* who would be on the WNBA All-Time Charisma Team?

Current players:

G: Diana Taurasi
G: Ivory Latta
F: Chiney Ogwumike
F: Nneka Ogwumike
C: Imani Boyette

All-time (this list has a very Liberty slant, YMMV):

G: Teresa Weatherspoon
G: Ashley Battle
F: Tamika Catchings
F: Taj McWilliams-Franklin
C: Tari Phillips

To be honest, in New York, you could probably still put Spoon on the current list, even at mumble-mumble years old. (And honorable mention has to go to Sue Wicks, who probably still holds the Liberty franchise record for most autographs given, and if it weren't for Catch she would probably hold the league record.) (Yes, I know that's not an official stat, pilight.)

I went to her blogger site. While I don't consider myself to be a "Grammar Nazi", I find it hard to believe she is a student who wants to be a WNBA team doctor. Rolling Eyes

Maybe her "skool is more gooder then yors"! Razz

The post is several years old. Perhaps her grammar and spelling have become less eccentric.

Elena Delle Donne has about as much charisma as a dead fish.

I have to agree about EDD (though "dead fish" might be a little harsh).

Seems like a nice person, great player, invisible personality (for whatever reason).

Hyperbole. But you get what I mean.

I like EDD and have seen some pieces where she was thoughtful and interesting which is why she is on my team, she ain't got to be on yours but I'm cool with my choice.

I'm surprised you objected to her and not Taurasi.

Wait what? Are we talking about the same Taurasi? She has personality for 10. Her interviews are fantastic. I will always remember her answering the question of are you going to watch the semi final matchup Sparks vs the Storm (in 2010 i think) and she answered nahh im going to watch Jersey Shore Laughing
