Does no Alaina Coates make any difference here? Quinnipiac is this years Cinderella but they're going to turn into a pumpkin on the 25th at 6pm as the final buzzer sounds.

I hope Quinnipiac wins though.

With the injury to Coates, is does open the door for Quinnipiac. Let's see if they can benefit for Coates being out.

Questionable. Next game unlikely, the following game still unknown.

Thank you for the update. I'm happy to hear that at least it doesn't seem to be a serious issue. At least I hope it's not.

So what was the official injury ? Her reaction and ability to run/walk afterwards was much worse than turners who seemed to walk off the court on her own. I was for sure Gray's would be the "X' injury and turners be less severe. More or less glad to hear alicia is ok , shes a sight for sore eyes Laughing

Turner's was an ACL injury, or an injury to the joint infrastructure to her knee. Her soft-tissue (muscularity) apparently was fine, so while the injury was severe and would prevent Turner from pivoting, moving laterally, and other flexing motions that the ACL provides structural support for, as long as she walked carefully with little bending or other flexing motions of her knee, the pain wouldn't be as severe...

Gray suffered a soft-tissue injury, to the muscularity of the back of her leg. The muscles are used primarily to move the limbs, so in order to walk in any fashion - even the ability to stand upright after getting up from the floor - could work the injured muscle group(s) and cause more pain. This makes the person with the injury grimace, and stop moving due to it.

As it was, its looking like Gray will be available to play Friday, although to what extent/degree I don't know. Hopefully she's able to contribute closer to her regular levels....

Quinnipiac beat Miami with a barrage of 3-ptrs, but have not particularly been a great 3-pt shooting team this season (ranked 197th), nor one shooting overall either (206th). It may not matter if this is a team that's on a roll.

USC on the other hand is a stout defender on the perimeter (ranked 5th nationally in 3-pt. FG defense), and have a number of strong guard defenders.

The best rebounder for Quinnipiac is 5-11, and they aren't a tall team that rebounds a ton. This plays well to our own team which is missing our own top rebounder in Coates. It will be an interesting match-up....

Staley wasn't exactly forthcoming about the availability of Coates until the selections were over. It might be that she wants the Bobcats to spend a lot of time preparing for a player who won't play. “much better than she was two days ago." could just mean that she doesn't have to carried around.

10 seed Oregon upsets Maryland.

Can 12 seed Quinnipiac upset South Carolina?

SC better not be looking past this team. I'm guessing Staley will remind them of the Oregon game.

That was less hard. They did beat Duke at Duke.

I don't have a good feeling about the Mighty Quinns based on the early returns here.

They're just forcing up junk like they really don't belong.
