I can't wait either. Two of the teams, Maryland Oregon, I've never seen play in person, so I can't wait.

So UCLA is primarily a zone team? How much man do they play?

I'd really say it's about 50/50 for the Bruins, though a lot depends on the matchup, of course. It's entirely possible they pick one or the other on Saturday and stick with it for most of the game.

Lord knows I love my Bruins, and the Ducks certainly do have some exciting youngsters, but right now-- in 2017-- the two best, most talented Pac-12 players are wearing purple and competing in Oklahoma City on Friday night.

I agree and defer to your PAC12 knowledge, but i think OR and UCLA have more talent across the board than UDub, Stan, and OR ST.

Admittedly I've seen only the last month or so of the season.

Uconn won't break a sweat with this team. I also predict the Uconn / Maryland game to be at least a 20 point win for Uconn. Sure they had a close game earlier in the season, but this is March and the Huskies are hitting on all cylinders. Uconn will roll right along to the championship game with ease.

Will Monique Billings guard Collier? Either way watching her go up against Collier or Williams will be a treat.

As an aside, I really hope UCLA isn't in UConn's region next year. Two years in a row is enough.

UCLA seems to be focused on denying the inside game with double teams and being willing to live and die on whether UConn can hit outside.

UCLA only has 4 turnovers, impressive considering UConn has 8. UConn is just shooting 20%+ better than UCLA right now

48-31 UConn at the half. It could have been way worse if it wasn't for some bombs from Korver

For a month or more Burke has been hyping Azura Stevens even calling her the front-runner for next year's POY. What's Doris going to say when Stevens doesn't even start next year?

I'm guessing their starters will be Nurse, Samuelson, Gabby, Collier, and Azura.

Also, teams couldn't rack up 6 games per tournament in the early years. They do the same thing in pro sports. MLB used to have only one playoff round, the World Series.

Hard to imagine benching a current starter if they win the championship.
Maybe Stevens will end up being a poison pill.

Chong graduates. So myrtle isn't benching a current starter.

I was agreeing with her, but Dangerfield gets held back. Maybe it won't be such a problem.

The starters this year have gotten about 30 mins each and Danger got 25. So if you take Chong's 30 and cut the others back to a more reasonable 25 there are 50 minutes available for Stevens & Walker. The problem will be at the other end of the bench. I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 or 3 transfers after the end of next season.

The game summery shows 8,800 attended so there were 1,200 unsold seats. Not one Maryland fan was unable to attend due to a lack of tickets.

Much ado about nothing.

Wouldn't surprise me if Dangerfield never becomes a starter. UConn has three other highly rated guards coming in.

And even Walker could end up playing ahead of Stevens. There's an awful lot of hype growing around Azura; I'm not buying it. IIRC, when she was "starring" for Duke, they missed the tournament for the first time in forever. Hardly a sterling resume. I watched her play a lot in the ACC. They were a LOT better this year without her.

I'm in show me mode. UConn is going to have a ton of talent. Picking out Stevens as the slam dunk star of that team seems incredibly premature. It's just typical Doris hot air. And if she never plays a game it won't detract one bit from UConn's success. Their roster is just fine.

If it was 8,800 it was sold out. It holds 10,000 only for concerts with seating on the arena floor. Basketball seats fewer than 9000. Unless you expect players to dribble between the chairs.

I think that a lot of the Stevens hype comes from November when most of the media experts had UConn as maybe a 2 or 3 seed and absent from the FF due a lack of AA's.

Hey, I just rep[orted what was on the box score. But a bit of research shows basketball capacity at 9000, so apparently it wasn't a sellout.

Actually they said 8600 in the radio pregame show. wiki says "up to" 9000 for basketball, 8500 for hockey. And you have to deduct hundreds for NCAA staff and guests reserved seats, media, bands, etc.

If they sold 8800 tickets I sincerely doubt there was a single ticket available unsold today.

UConn won because it's an amazing team comprised of amazing players, led by the best basketball coach in the history of the women's game. From recruiting to training to game prep to execution and beyond, UConn does it the right way, and better than anyone else.

Congrats to the Huskies for today's win, and best of luck the rest of the way.

See you in Pauley in November.

Good night nurse. Andy Landers just claimed with great drama, that it took "great courage" for Katie Lou Samuelson to go to Connecticut instead of Stanford. I already didn't like Landers as a commentator.

Ridiculous. KML went from the exact same high school to UConn not 4 years earlier. FBOW, there was absolutely nothing groundbreaking about a top SoCal recruit signing with UConn.
