Who will make the most 3pt shots this season?

After the first round of the NCAA tournament, for players who are in a post-season tournament and who have a chance to win, the standings look like this (* = season over):

122* - Tori "the gurus ignore me" Jankoska, Mich. St.

116* - Darby Maggard, Belmont

113 - Asia Durr, L'ville

112 - Katie Lou Samuelson, UConn

110 - Kelsey Mitchell, Oh. St.

107 - Jessica Kovatch, St. Fran. (in WBI)

106 - Kelsey Plum, Wash.

101 - Sydney Wiese, Oreg. St.

100 - Precious Hall, JMU (in WNIT)

Nice to see Precious in that list! One WNBA draft calculation I saw has her going fairly high in the second round and calls her a "creative scorer" which she certainly is. Sometimes she gets a little too creative for her own good and it doesn't work, but she's had to carry this team much of the time this year. And there were a lot of teams that had NO answer for her, among them Tennessee and Rutgers. The CAA knows her, but outside the CAA she's very much an unknown quantity.

Thanks. I'll post an update on all of them after today's NCAA games. STB, if you could keep watching Hall that would be helpful.

I'll be keeping up with her just as long as JMU is playing. She's our bae!

On Friday night Precious broke JMU's existing single season scoring record, previously held by Dawn Evans. I don't know what the 3 point record is but I'm pretty sure she holds it Smile She even has her own special cheer....whenever she makes one, the band chants "That's our Precious! That's our Precious!"

With JMU's loss to Villanova in the WNIT, Precious Hall ended her season with 108 3FG's made.

The NCAA1 season record is 129, set last season by Syracuse's Brianna Butler.

Asia Durr and Katie Lou Samuelson, both currently with 114, are pursuing their schools' season records: 118 by Shoni Schimmel and 121 by Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis.

Kelsey Mitchell, currently at 113, is pursuing her own records of 127 as a freshman and 126 as a sophomore.

With a comparable senior year, she's on track to obliterate KML's NCAA1 career record of 398.

Not too shabby. And the one she made to force the game into OT was a thing of beauty. Goodbye, Precious, we will miss you greatly!
