Well that's not a smart foul. Auburn player hip checks the NCSt dribbler 20 feet into the back court.

And Auburn is (understandably) already over the limit so NCSt will be shooting free throws.

21-11 NCSt leads as the first quarter ends.

NCSU got screwed. They should be a much higher seed. Should be hosting. 4th place in the ACC & not hosting. But 7th place Miami gets to host. smdh.

This Auburn team seems like such a stereotypical SEC WBB team. Lots of athletes, no shooters, no discernable half court offensive plan, lots of fouls.

It's the kind of thing one would expect to just be an exagerrated stereotype, but then you look and, voila, here it is in real life.

Well, in all fairness, NCSt had those big conf wins, but also had some bad losses, and their SOS was much weaker. Consequently Miami's RPI was 15, while NCSt's was 39. I'm sure that's the reason for their seedings.

Besides, they got matched with a team that shouldn't even be in the tournament, so that's not so bad.

Auburn demonstrating why they shouldn't have been selected

There should not be a system that puts at team that finished 4th in the ACC as the 6th seed and teams that finished 5th and 7th in the ACC as a hosts. There just shouldn't be.

And because non-conference games and conference tournament games are probably weighed the same as conference games:
Lousiville beat NC State in ACC tournment and beat Kentucky in non-conference
Miami beat Florida State in ACC tournament and beat Ohio St in non-conference
NC State didn't beat anybody of note non-conference and lost their ACC tournament game (albeit barely)

Well, Auburn "explodes" for six whole points after scoring four in the previous thirteen minutes.

NCSt now leads 44-23 halfway through the third period.

So now it's 49-23 at the end of three.

This is the NCAA tournament and Auburn has scored a total of 23 points in three quarters of play. By quarter - 11, 4, 8.

Face it Auburn, you completely robbed some other group of young women from playing in the tournament because you certainly didn't belong here.

I know someone on the general forum kept saying they want the Auburn coach gone, but will making the tourney get her an extension? They are bad and honestly Auburn is lucky to be in the tourney.

Wow, another massive six point explosion for Auburn, and of course another Auburn foul.

Seriously, it was a joke them getting an invite in the first place. Thank goodness the hosts of the selection show asked about their inclusion. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

One of the bubbles shown out the door. But who knows if any of the excluded bubbles would have done better.

Auburn EXPLODES and more than doubles their score in the fourth quarter.

So they only lose by 14.

Bye bye Auburn. We hardly knew ya.

This is a time when you can honestly say:

Well, they couldn't have been any worse. Very Happy
