Davis throws a bad pass on the inbounds and MSU gets the ball back down 1 with 4:34 left. 50-49 SC

For sure, enjoying this more than the Baylor game, just was remarking on the low scoring.

Big charge call on the Gray lay-up since she made the tough bucket and would have shot a FT. Gray scoreless right now

C'mon ref! You're going to call a charge after that beautiful steal and drive?

I really wish the NCAA would stop encouraging that defensive play.

I thought it was a travel but definitely NOT a charge.

LOL Mississippi State has 4 points this quarter, whichever 1 seed gets them as their 2 will be very happy

I agree. I mean all credit to what Vic has done there, it is amazing that he is winning in Starkville. But their offense gets in these droughts that to me make them very susceptible to being upset. My guess is they would get knocked out before making it to play a 1 seed but without seeing the pairings that prediction doesn't mean much.

its to the point now where a player can slide and stand straight up and just because they are straight up its a charge . Refs are not even checking to see if players are at the spot first . Its like you fall its a charge for just attempting to take one lol that play is becoming more and more of a joke.

Why are they acting like they just won a NCAA title ? Maybe because they know this is the closest they will ever get to tasting one Laughing

It's important to know which refs you have. These ones were amazingly O-foul happy. Most aren't quite that into it.

I can't wait to see how McCowan develops. She's only a sophomore and the big girls usually aren't their best until the last couple of years. If she gets more mobile, wow!

She has come a long way just in the past year...so yeah, it should be fun to see if she can develop even more.

Yeah myrtle i must agree with you . Today was just crazy , i called at least 3 charges before they even occured on the fast break and i knew they were bad calls before the whistle even blew lol . Hopefully this crew doesnt get put together again for a while .

That's why VV is a pita- on the drive in which she smashed the ball off the glass while challenged by Wilson, McCowan was open for the simple dish for the easy deuce.

But no....

I've been really disappointed in her lack of development...I loved her as a freshman and thought she'd be one of the top players in the country by now. Granted MSU doesn't have much else in the way of offense but her decision making is not even close to WNBA level yet.

You might be right but how would you want them to act? like they lost, which they very well might have. They are celebrating their 3rd SEC Title, the only team other than Tenn to do so!

At this point is Mississippi State a two seed? There aren't other teams more deserving of a two seed than this team I saw play today and yesterday? Is the West being disprespected and therefore undervalued again?.

I would have had more excitement had they acted like theyve done this 3 times and realize the bigger picture is a nati. Sometimes it seems like SC plays for SEC titles throught the season and dont believe they really can win a nati.

THAT kid has a tremendous upside. "Beast" is 'bout right.

Kudos to SC for a solid win, sans Coates. And yes, while there's something to be said for the Coates-less lineup, I think the twin tower thing is ALSO a formidable option. Hope she's back and well, soon.

I see Dawn has them far better prepared for presses than she did earlier in the season. This is good.

Part of the equation for her success is getting a solid surrounding core around her. The senior class just graduating weren't highly ranked (going by Hoopgurlz)

http://www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/school/_/id/344/class/2013

And in Vivians class she was really the only highliner

http://www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/school/_/id/344/class/2014/mississippi-state

He's developed some solid players but getter my in some blue chips is gonna be key

Assuming VV comes back, they will have the BIG inside, VV, and the midget outside. All three are ballers. I think they have great potential next year. He also has a 5 star guard signed for next year.
