So, rumors are making the rounds that KT is deciding between LA, DC, and possibly Phoenix and Seattle. It's been rumored that LA can't afford (or rather, doesn't have the cap space) to pay her what she wants, and she's considering taking her talents close to home in DC, or maybe Phoenix/Seattle. She could either take what LA offers to defend the title, go close to her hometown in DC, or team up with other players in PHO/SEA.

LA'll be offering her the max just like everyone else. There are other people you let walk or trade away before you let Toliver leave for nothing. |

Lack of cap space has never been an issue for the Sparks

What is the difference between the $113,500 and the $111,000 offers? The CBA seems to suggest that the lower of the two would apply to a free agent moving teams.

Yes, you can re-sign with your existing team for slightly more than if you move teams. But it's a minimal enough difference that I'd be surprised if it affected anyone's decision much. |

Sorry again... it appears that the website or my browser glitched and swapped LA Sparks into question slot. For "LA Sparks" click "somewhere else" and comment Sparks below

I like this for the Mystics but also for the balance of the league. They can now atleast compete with teams like the Sparks Lynx Liberty and the Mercury

Shes Americas Most wanted woman in the league .Maybe this trend continues with big stars wanting to be closer to home & She decides she wants to finish her playing career near home forcing a trade to ATL in about 3 to 5 years ?

Just to give an idea how rare this is, I've only found three other instances in which a starter for a championship team left as a free agent before the next season. Le'Coe Willingham started for the Mercury in 2009 then went to Seattle in 2010. Sheri Sam and Kamila Vodichkova both started for the 2004 Storm and played elsewhere in 2005 (Sam in Charlotte, Vodichkova in Phoenix).

She's from that area, and maybe she's feeling the heat from Gray. Whereas the PG situation in DC is in somewhat disarray. I have a feeling Thibault knew about Toliver early on, so he knew it'd be okay to let Hartley go.
