It most likely would have to be a summer-based thing like the WNBA or arena football

Interesting. The entertainment company that will run the new arena thinks the WNBA is a viable possibility.

Correct me if i'm wrong and of course redicliously small sample size but I remember when the Shock Played in the Joe that crowds were better and louder and got some numbers not seen in the Palace.

I actually thought this would make sense...Dunno what the new Pistons owners think of it but It wouldn't be insanity to see the Shock return to Detroit with the new Downtown arena...the biggest complaints I've always heard when the Shock were in Detroit was how far away from their fanbase the Palace was...unlike most expansion talk...I think this may very well have some merit

Wouldn't be for a few years, probably 2020 the earliest. Joe Lacob & San Francisco are still #1.

How do you know he's still interested?

Talking to him? Idea

Of course, there's the possibility that they may just be saying that they're interested... Confused

But currently they're waiting for the new arena.

As long as we don't have to hear people asking if Deanna Nolan's coming out of retirement.

I think it's good to have several potential cities in expansion rumors. I'd assume Joe Lacob & San Francisco are still interested. We also have had the current Sacramento Kings owners talk about bringing back the Monarchs. And now we have possibly Detroit coming back down the line & even potentially Louisville. I have to wonder if the Portland Timbers(MLS, also owners of the NWSL's Portland Thorns) are still interested. They briefly stated at one point a while back about owning a WNBA franchise. That's 5 potential expansion spots.
