Here at Dishin & Swishin, we spent our year end look back time searching for something more; something or rather someone, that went beyond on the court success. We asked the question, who is the person that surpassed court performance to impact people with their persona and aura. In other words who is the 2016 "Ambassador of Women's Basketball," the person that we want representing the game to anyone we would want to introduce or discuss women's basketball with.

The answer came quickly and easily: WNBA MVP and Champion Nneka Ogwumike of the Los Angeles Sparks, our first Dishin & Swishin Ambassador of Women's Basketball.


Lots of great candidates, but Nneka stood out for her grace under pressure, on the court success, and off the court willingness to take on responsibility to grow the game.

And since Nneka isn't one to talk about herself, who better to gush about her sister than Chiney?

Great interview! Chiney really is Nneka's #1 fan and it is beautiful to witness. She seems like the kind of person who never meets a stranger! The ladies of the W constantly make me proud to support the league with the Ogwumike's being a true testament of the special athletes and women that are in the W. I hope Chiney gets and stays healthy. She was looking stronger and stronger as the season progressed last year!

I like Chiney and hope she doesn't have to deal with anymore injuries.
