Don't worry, I like Aretha Franklin.

Having said that, that had to be one of the WORST "Star Spangled Banner" performances that I've ever heard.

First, you're inside - lose the fur.

Second, it should take about ~60 seconds to do the song. Don't take 60 seconds to adjust the mic and get ready. I listened to part of it and then decided to go to the bathroom because I was hating it. I figured that she'd be finished by the time I got back. Wrong! She was maybe halfway through.

Hoping the others are better. At least shorter.


During the halftime when they were telling time of possession for the teams, they added TOP for Aretha. 4:35! W A Y too long. And w a y too funny!

At first I thought Aretha took way too long on the National Anthem.

And then there was whatever the fuck that was at halftime.

I now think Aretha can take whatever time she wants.

Aretha is 74. She reps Detroit. She was playing her own piano. She can take as long as she wants. Give her a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T already. The game isn't that important and nobody is going to remember the game two years from now.
