I don't think Weise has a slow release. At least not when she is tightly covered and they need a shot/bucket. She just plants her feet and fires in one motion. Karli Samuelson is the one who's release I'd be concerned with. She has that Samuelson family shooting motion.

not sure why everyone seems to think Wiese will suck. Give the girl a chance before you write her off. I think she'll be a decent SF in the league. Can she guard Maya? No. Can anybody? No. Can she guard Angel? No. Can she guard almost any other SF - I'm thinking she can. Maybe not immediately, but she plays really smart and I think will make up for lack of pure speed by playing scout defense and using position. I could be wrong of course but at least watch her play before saying she's a piece of do-do.

The real question is "can she guard Tamera Young?"

I think any player who can only do one thing, such as T. Young, should be guardable by my grandmother. Ok, that's an exaggeration but those who only shoot threes, obviously you hang out at the three line; those who only drive, you dare 'em to shoot. It ain't rocket science.

Everybody and their grandmama knows Tamara is your favorite player. Twisted Evil

Brittany Brown, Jessica Jackson, Nina Davis, and Aundrea Gamble were all waived. That leaves
Sims/Gray
Beard/Williams/Weisner/Hopkins
Carson/Weise/Go/Samuelson
Parker/Jackson-Jones/Ruef/Ibekwe
Ogwumike/Lavender/Grant-Allen/Warley-Talbert

You mean those 96 3s she shot at 48.5% even though everyone knows she is one of the best 3 pt shooters in the nation Rolling Eyes Not only does she have a quick release as she is set as she catches, she shoots way beyond the arc.

Now that Nina is gone these 2 just became my favorite hopefuls.

Kayla is a good player but these 2 standout to me because in any other year they most likely wouldn't even be considered in this league but they both were drafted to the team with the most need for shooters in which they both specialize. Im excited hope they both make it but i live in reality.

Why does she shoot way beyond the arc if she has a quick release?

I believe she has a quick release vs certain teams mainly pac 12 teams. In the W she will have to utilize that smooth stepback she likes a bit more if she wants to stick. If she could learn the Nicole Powell Chunk A Shot lol she could really be something

Samuelson's the better fit imo. She'd be the perfect floor spacer for Parker and Ogwumike.A 3 point catch and shoot specialist.Exactly what the sparks are missing.Hopefully there's no pressure on Agler to keep Wiese.

SIX more cuts. Holy Shit. And that assumes they can afford 12.

I think the final roster will keep Weise and Samuelson. I assume they can afford 12 with Toliver off the books. If they can't afford 12, cut Samuelson.
Sims/Gray
Beard/Williams/Samuelson
Carson/Weise
Parker/Jackson-Jones
Ogwumike/Lavender/Warley-Talbert

Well, potentially only four more cuts for now, considering Parker and Lavender won't arrive in time for the start of the season.

i was thinking the same , hopefully riquana comes back in her Record setting form . Im not placing any expectations on O Sims , whatever she contributes should be considered a gift from the heavens.

Apparently, I am less concerned with Odyssey than most. It's been a while since she was not expected to be a #1 or #2 scoring option. She hasn't had that luxury since college playing with Brittney.

Now she has two dominant post players in CP3 and Nerd City I, and she will have splendid opportunities to get open looks as long as she is willing to share the rock. She has a sensitive but demanding coach who will bench her if she doesn't stay with his program. I actually see this season as a great opportunity for her to truly grow and develop her game.

I am actually a lot much more concerned with Riquna and her free lancing ways than Odyssey. Brian may have to literally place her in a strait jacket at times to curb her street ball tendencies. It will be interesting to see how Riquna and the other youngsters respond to Candace and Nneka.

Ibekwe didn't play in the preseason games, and I don't think I saw her on the bench- is she another roster mirage?

+1 about the riquana portion . Agler is going to have to really show his coaching skills.

Agler will have his hands full with Sims & Williams. I bet one of them isn't a Spark in 2018.

Their preseason roster said she would be coming late due to her overseas commitments, so I assume she would be coming soon.

With beard retiring theres a chance he might not have a choice unless he uses one for trade bate at this point the player with more value would be sims only due to injury. Sims & LA's 1st rounder for someones 18' 1st rounder??

Sims is getting tossed around like a hot potato. I thought she was overrated coming out of college (and took a lot of heat for it), but I don't think she's as bad as people have been saying lately. Need a little bit of patience with players on new teams. Too much need for instant gratification.

Remember that Toliver was a trigger happy player herself and wasnt called mopey for nothing. But she turned it around and became a solid player and teammate.

Sims will have to see the Sparks as team USA. When she is on the floor its her job to get the stars the ball and work hard for everthing
