Mercury fans should wait until Griner's name is on a contract before they start penciling her in as the starting center. As i've already mentioned,Griner asking for a trade to dallas isn't so far-fetched.

Where in the heck are all these tidbits coming from?
DeWanna is sitting out. DeWanna is having a baby.
Now Brittney wants to be traded...to the team her ex plays for? So many rumors I really can't keep up :O

No inside sources.....My reasoning for a Griner trade:

1.Most players who play year round get home sick
2.We've seen a number of high profile players demand trades
3.Griner is from Texas
4.Griner has not yet signed a contract.
5.There's been a lot of overturn in the phoenix organization since Griner was drafted
7.The mercury have been very active on the trade market.

A phoenix/dallas trade would look something like this:#4,#23,Johnson & Christmas for Griner.

Phoenix could then make a move for Mccoughtry & Dolson:

Bonner,#4 & #23 for MCcoughtry

Christmas & Bone for Dolson & Quigley

Phoenix roster
G-Robinson
G-Taurasi
C-Dolson
F-Johnson
F-MCcoughtry
6-Little
7-Quigley
8-Mitchell
10-George
11-Petrovic
12-Xargay

Griner being traded is as likely as a racist, misogynistic, sexual predator being elected to high office...oh fuck!

Never fear - Griner's already stated she's going to return and just hasn't sat down yet to talk numbers. We saw something similar with Nneka and Maya. As for Dewanna sitting out, I think having her completely off the web page where she wasn't last year even when cored was whay convinced me the rumors were true.

There are no numbers to discuss with Griner. Max is Max.
And Dewannna isn't off the web page..

We saw it often in the past. Big time players playing overseas take their time to sign their contracts. Griner is playing for UMMC at the moment so im not really worried that she hasnt signed yet

BTW: Harden did play PG in college. (and was great on my fantasy team) However, there is a bit of a leap from playing PG at Wichita State to playing it for the Phoenix Mercury. I've thought it really great that she actually made the team and stuck! Of course it has a lot to do with circumstances, but I assume she's at least shown something in practice. Anybody know how she's doing overseas?

Bonner, Griner, Petrovic, Xargay.... all unsigned.

If you don't feel the need to sign two of them, please let the Lynx know.

I count Griner and Bonner, the other two, like most Euro players, may or may not show up, who the heck knows. That's always been the way it's worked with imports. I don't sweat it because there's nothing I can do about any of it.

This whole Dupree trade thing was WAY out of left field; what reason did they have to trade her? For a second I was wondering if it had something to do with her marrying Bonner, but they've obviously been together for a long time. She's getting older, but so are Taurasi and Bonner...

Kelsey Bone is still unsigned(has not accepted an offer from another team).I get the feeling that phoenix is desperately trying to sign/trade Kelsey to Seattle,Dallas or Washington

Bone to Seattle for Langhorne

Bone to Seattle for KML

Bone to Dallas for #10 & 23 picks

I forgot about Bone. That makes 5 unsigned for PHX. Seems like that's just their style not to rush the signings. Wouldn't push the panic button, especially with Griner.

Also none of the PX five can just go somewhere else, Bonner is cored, Griner and Bone are RFA so they could sign a contract with someone else but PX can just match, and Xargay and Petrovic are reserved players so they can only talk to PX to begin with.

Bonner is weighing her options, might sit out, might accept a trade if she wants to play with the trading partner, might decide to return to PX.
Griner isn't going anywhere
Bone maybe a trade is being discussed, RFA have to agree to a sign and trade, or PX just waits to see what kind of offers Bone might receive elsewhere to determine the value of the contract they will offer her
Petrovic and Xargay are involved in Euro basket and won't show until later in the season, saving PX a little in cap, and giving some newer players a chance to audition. But if Petrovic and Xargay decide to show later in the season PX will make room and become a stronger team in the 2nd half.

Liz Cambage package for Griner or Cambage package for Bonner.

No both are foul prone defenders. Cambage cant defend PF s and Griner would get into foul trouble even more guarding faster PF s. Also both dont have that consistent outside shot. Both are low block players
