I met a Mercer graduate yesterday, pilight, & naturally thought of you. I was at a wedding on the wharf here in Santa Barbara--a beautifully clear 80 degree day, just gorgeous--and she was the groom's step mother. The bride is from SB now living outside Augusta. The Mercer graduate was most impressed that I knew about the Teddy Bears--she had gone to Mercer in the 60s because her mother worked there.

I don't get along well with most Mercer alumni. Damn Baptists.

Mercer didn't have a WCBB team until the 1970-71 season.

Oh she isn't/wasn't a Baptist. Her mother worked at Mercer (there was a controversy--her mother was a Catholic & Mercer wondered if they should hire her) so she got free tuition. She lives in Georgia & follows the Teddy Bears now that they have team (not like you, but still).

Sounds like this rep of e Vatican is "intelligent" himself and not willing espouse the beliefs of his religion at all cost. Quite refreshing.
