USA vs. France
4pm EST
NBCSN

Likely the USA's toughest match in group stage.

I'm predicting a France victory, but we'll have to see.

I'm prepared for a French victory but am of course hoping I show myself wrong. Laughing Our side looked a little sloppy against NZ despite the 2-0 score, left a lot of opportunities without connecting at goal.

Banana sandwich? Laughing Is that banana on bread and nothing else?

Engen in the starting line up for Johnson, Dunn is in the starting line up for Pugh. JJ out with a groin injury, Pugh with an ankle. Back line is a little off, but it's early and there hasn't been much pressure.

They really are. The backline still seems a little shaky. Hoping they don't get through and we can ride the pressure out, France usually fades in the second 45.

The French seem to be faster and keeping Solo on her toes.

A lot of defensive breakdowns. Kling keeps getting left in their dust. Confused

Oh man, Heath just over the cross. Should have been a corner kick, the keeper got her mitts on that for the save.

USA needs to keep Renard away from the ball. Put a body on her.

Solo kept USA in the game.

So many mistakes in defending the set piece. Solo earned her clean sheet. She won this game for Murica.

"Murica" Laughing This was a good game. Especially for the players in their first Olympic game.

So, so, so true. It's such a difference on the defensive end from WC14 to now.

I was only paying half attention to the second half of this game and watching the Opals play on another screen; I glanced over when Krieger's clear looked like it was going to go into the US goal and almost fell off my chair for a minute.
