This is my real life Baby Baller. He fell in love with basketball, before he could even say it. His favorite player is Steph Curry. Last summer my nephew "Baby Shawn" was diagnosed with DIPG. The doctors told the family to take him home and enjoy the time we have with him. Giving him 6 months to a year to live.

His mom went online and found a program at St. Jude's. He got accepted into the program and his prognosis has improved. After 30 rounds of radiation, he was sent home to spend the holiday season with the family. In January he returned to St. Jude's for a follow-up MRI. This MRI showed his DIPG tumor has shrunken tremendously.

While not totally in the clear, the doctors are very encouraged by these findings. At this time, no further treatment was ordered. He is back home, and doing well in school. He still shoots hoops every day. He will have to return to St. Jude's for another follow-up MRI in April.

Somedays are better than others. But, Baby Shawn is not going through this alone. The basketball community has been great. There's a lot of love, words of encouragement and players, coming in from all over the world. Steve Kerr heard about the lil baller and that he was a huge fan of Steph Curry, and arranged for him to meet him and the whole team, when they played in Miami.

Baby Shawn has not stop talking about it. He gave Steph a bracelet and Steph has been wearing it every since. Baby Shawn sees this and it makes him smile.

Much love and respect for Steve Kerr and Steph Curry. They gave Baby Shawn the all-star treatment, from the airport gate, the decorated hotel room, a meal with the team, and Steph even took him with him when he met the media. The little man will never forget this experience.

Devastating. So sorry for your family but so happy one part of this boy's dreams came true.

Thank you. He hasn't stopped talking about meeting Steph. The Warriors really did show him a great time.
