If she wants to play she's a better choice than anyone else who's likely to be available from Washington.

Did Washington still hold the rights to her contract? I am trying to figure out how it works in her case.

She didn't play in the league long enough to be a UFA.

I would love to see SDS go at it again with a little more fire under her butt. She sure gets excitable up in the booth!

I'm looking at the Junkies draft board and just did the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. If whoever picked Sista Christon is right, there's gonna be a riot here in the five boroughs.

More UFAness: Tari can't be picked. She can say "f--- you, Van!" and sign with the Sky if she so desires, but they can't make her. Ditto on Dawn, I think. Ditto on Farris with the Shock.

Tom Cullen hasn't been here in a long time. Other than that, I think it was all coaches and assistants, unless I am missing something.

Ok, guys, show me who knows their stuff, I've put up a selection form, put in your picks for which player Chicago will select from each team, winner is the one that has the most players that are picked by Chicago in the draft, in case of a tie, the one with the earliest entry will be the winner.

It's nothing fancy, only one selection per user, change it as many times as you like, every time you hit the submit button, it will overwrite the old picks with your new picks, contest will be open until Midnight Eastern time Tuesday night.

link to the selection box:
http://boards.rebkell.net/challenge/draft.php

I've added a totals board, that shows the totals of the current draft picks, real time.

Contest closed at midnight Exclamation OK, quick picks: Arrow

    Jia Perkins
    Jamie Carey
    Plenette Pierson
    Roneeka Hodges
    Ebony Hoffman*
    Laura Macchi^
    Amber Jacobs
    Catherine Kraayeveld
    Gwen Jackson
    Chelsea Newton *
    Shyra Ely
    Francesca Zara
    Nakia Sanford^

    * I think deals will be made so that CHI doesn't select any player
^ Perhaps a liitle 'Nykesha Sales resigning type deals' will be made to protect them or others resulting in this pick.

She didn't play in the league long enough to be a UFA.

In theory, if the Mystics didn't make a qualifying offer to her then she would become a UFA. Since she announced her retirement, that requirement may have been waived allowing Washington to retain her rights.

If Chicago took her in the expansion draft it's a win-win. Washington "loses" someone that didn't play for them and wasn't in their plans while the Sky gain a better player than they would have ordinarily expected to receive.

As for the contest, I got two. I only did that well because someone leaked that Jia Perkins was available.

I got two also. I didn't see Perkins, but I guessed right on the Powell/Newton combo.

Robinson and SDS were picked by one person each, so I guess they're the big surprises.

I only got Stacey and Zara right. I thought Chelsea would be protected over Kristin, which led me to pick Pierson over Powell. I knew I should have had Jia over Janel (and Brooke over Jen), but went with what I wanted to happen on those two picks rather than what would likely happen.

I will miss Stacey being on the Lynx. She really was a nice spark off the bench and was one of the few veterans on the team. I will miss seeing her adorable daughter at the games, too.

I did not play. Since I knew who many teams protected, I didn't think it was fair that I play, since that would have been an unfair advantage.

Hey, I got 4! Exclamation 5 if you count WAS as their nothing pick...

Too bad about Newton and Zara... Confused Deanna is going off to greener pastures though, which is good. I guess CON didn't go ahead with the Sales loophole to protect Wyckoff.

Not to play stupid, I've been really busy, but okay but what else is coming Chicago's way towards building a roster? They get the 6th pick automatically in each round of the draft, right?

And den what?

Cause this can't be all there is. Shocked

So are we to believe that Mike T protected Erin Phillips over Brooke Wycoff?
