Charlotte had a chance to dump both big contracts (Feaster and Sam), but protected them. Perkins was a late first round-early second round pick in 2004 but for the pregnancy.
Why does Trudi Lacey still have a job?

Keegan, I guarantee your Aussie sources are not correct...and they seem to change their minds regarding certain players and who is protected every week.

How "interesting" are these picks, Keegan |
I don't know any particulars but I just got some general information from a reliable source
I've been told that Chicago did better than "expected" though. |

That's possible. As I said, I don't know anything specific about the draft. Just general dribblings I have gotten from other people (and yes, there is more than one person). |

But will Spoon officially announce anything regarding her retirement? Does she feel like it needs to be announced?
If she doesn't do that, she leaves FFO no option other than ignoring her for the time being until she says something that leaves no doubt about what her plans are. I believe, in this case, FFO will do the right thing that is retiring her jersey and honoring her. WHEN she retires officially. |
Like I said, the only way I can believe Spoon doesn't want her moment to bask in the glow is if she feels FFO is just using her to bump up ticket sales. When have we ever known Spoon to not like the spotlight before this year? |
Blaze can know whatever she wants. She'd look like an ass if she had a ceremony for someone who wasn't retired. We can all know what she's doing now. That doesn't make it official. Until Spoon makes an announcement, drops a hint or releases a statement, it's on her. She may very well have decided to never step foot in the Garden again for all we know. I don't put it past Blaze to drop the ball, but before we go storming the Liberty offices, maybe we need to ask Spoon what her plans are, ya think?

The owners...who apparently still don't care, despite their public comments.

The blind leading the blind. Bob Johnson and his crew who are still making installments on their Charlotte franchises, aren't in this for wins and losses. They care that Trudi is a good company woman who is good for appearances and technically does her job. She doesn't do it well. That's not the point where Bob is concerned. Again, who's going to fire her?

If they don't get rid of Trudi, the franchise will never make money and will just be considered an unnecessary expense. Unless this is a great tax write off, something has to be done with her.

If you felt the franchise was never going to make money to begin with, why would you care? If you're looking for compassion, caring and operational intelligence from Bob Johnson, you're looking at the wrong guy. Ask Sheila. Ask former BET employees. When Bob and his boys are done paying for their new toy and paying off all the loans, they'll get around to the Sting. Right now Trudi just has to act busy whenever someone important walks by and not say anything stupid. All Bob Johnson ever cared about besides himself was his image.

This will seem a bit of a strange comment but anyways...
I'd just like to point out that my sources are domestically based and don't necessarily give out accurate information with regards to the WNBA. They're right sometimes and sometimes... they're not. |

Well if it means anything, the autographed Spoon jerseys hanging in both of Jay-Z's 40/40 clubs are the current Liberty jerseys. If she had a real problem with the team and didn't want to be associated with them, being as concerned with little things as she is, I wouldn't put it past her to give the club Spark jerseys instead. She also was at this year's high school championships and other events at MSG, none of which would make sense if she were holding a grudge.
F Blaze and retire the damn jersey. Better yet, just give Spoon Blaze's job. It's not like she does anything anyway. |

Yes, as long as FFO is at the helm, being a Liberty fan will be liking pulling teeth.

I might even pay for my tickets if it means watching Spoon stalk Pinky from the tunnel like Zeke. At least for the 3 games before she fires her. |

Why not organize a "Retire the Jeresy" thing at the first home game?
On a different topic...with the draft tomorrow I am surprised there has not been any protected player lists!

Thanks Cam.
BTW....I thought that the opening day limit for players in training camp was 18 and then dropped to 15 at some point into camp and then to 11 +IR before the season opening day. I could be wrong, most likely am, bu that is what I thought.
