Had a 3-game stretch averaging 14+ points and 15+ rebounds and not had one other double-double the rest of the season? Because that's where Kiah Stokes is at right now.
Not sure if anyone can answer this, but if anyone can I know it's Pilight.

If it's happened, probably most likely to have happened due to injury. Someone like Cheryl Ford doing it in the first few games before blowing out a knee. |

That sounds reasonable. I'm just trying to make sense of (unsuccessfully) how Stokes could have had those 3 incredible games in June sandwiched in between the rest. We know the explanation for the early-season stuff, but you'd think after the June performance that would no longer be a major factor.

She had a relatively good game today. Lots of rebounds and she actually looked to score but after Griner stuffed her twice, that kinda took the wind out of the offensive mindset. If she would try that against the more 'normal' C's I think she could be successful. But now, she's in the sharing with Vaughn mode so she simply isn't going to be on the floor long enough for double doubles.

exactly. i think stokes is only going to produce double-doubles when she plays more than 3-4 minutes at a time. she needs extended time, and i have a feeling she's the kinds player that only shows up when needed.
now that kia is back, i guess it isn't shocking her production is down.

The problem is, her reduction of minutes have been BECAUSE of a lack of performance, generally speaking, rather than her numbers being bad because of a lack of minutes. She's started all except the last 4 games. Since the Seattle home game, she hasn't been good, other than the last two games. Hopefully it means a turnaround is coming but we will see. I don't expect ten points every night or ten rebounds. I do expect a defensive presence, strong rebounding and effort every night though. And there's no reason I can think of other than injury why these traits shouldn't be the expectation.
