I saw a vid of Diggins on a drill...it was a dribble drive to the hoop and she looked quick. But, I also noticed no knee brace? Shouldn't she get use to practicing with one on? Shocked

A lot, if not most, of those who have serious knee injuries wind up playing without a brace. If the muscles are strong enough, I guess there's no real point ...

and I look at that training camp roster and I think there's 10 locks: Sims, Diggins, Christmas, Johnson, Pierson, Paris, Zahui B., Phillips, Keisel & Powers. The other two spots go to either Hooper or Richardson and Hamblin or Baugh.

always a bad time to be recovering from injury when you're trying to make a team.

I am surprised they use male practice players (and very tall ones) on the first day of training camp. Seems counterproductive.

Having male practice players is always helpful because they allow players to get more reps, and not practice bad habits, like say the coach wants "dummy defense" in certain drills it's better to have a practice player do that than have a player trying out for your team do it. I haven't watched any videos of the Dallas Wings practices and it's a little hard to tell much from the picture, but if the wings are working on post denials and pressuring the wing entry pass, I don't see how having practice players do that is counterproductive. Now if the practice players are a bunch of out of control guys and go full speed when the drill doesn't call for it or believe women are inferior and are trying to show them up, those types of guys can be bad, but usually the WNBA gets goods guys that volunteer to be practice players and understand their roles, so they don't present that issue.

That was quick, Tulsa's first cut is Baugh. I'm guessing this strongly improves Hamblin's chances now.

I didn't realize Tulsa still had a team.

Wow I'm surprised, I wonder if her health is still an issue and she wouldn't/won't be ready for the season which led to her being waived.

Yeah, that would be my guess. And Hamblin must be showing enough that they are comfortable letting her go.

She's been dealing with some kind of injury issue.

I think it has to do with more so with her injury. The 12th spot will come down to Hamblin, Richardson, or Plaisance. I wouldn't really be surprised to see them go with 11 for a while, and sign someone once they come along. But, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hamblin make it either.

The door is wide open for Zahui B and Hamlin.Paris will most likely miss the start of the regular season(playoffs in Turkey),Johnson will miss the first 7 games,Baugh is injured.

This reminds me of Paris showing up for chicago sky camp late.Keys cut Paris and kept Abi Olajuwon.

I'd be sick if Paris got cut this time.

Olajuwon sucked for a handful of games and Key got fired when the season ended. Probably not an example for a good coach to follow.

I'd never watch another wnba basketball game.

Not saying that it's going to happen.I just don't like the feeling of Courtney showing up after the season starts.

Paris wont be getting cut. Dallas will be young and inexperienced during the begging of the season though.

I agree... 664 rebounds in the last 2 seasons is valuable stuff.

sounds like Jude is still in the mix for that 4th guard spot. She played well the other day. Wouldn't it be ironic if she made the team and Shoni got cut. Confused

Jude is surely safe through the last home preseason game, which is Sunday

I wonder if the new GM considers her a rockstar. They could have had the real deal for a 2nd round pick.
