What are they running offensively? Because there is no reason why BG should be outside of the paint for that many possessions and I wish the refs would stop letting BG and Pree get beat up without calling it.

Not impressed with that quarter at all. The Merc still haven't learned to respect their opponents.

Not impressed with how lo-definition the game vision is either Confused

Sandy has to make an adjustment because Mitchell can not be out there on the guards like that. They have to figure it out and offensively DB, BG, Pree, and Currie have to start makin plays. The ball HAS to go inside. The Merc have to get back on the boards

That's a pretty unacceptable defensive effort from Phoenix. They also don't include rebounds credited as team rebounds in the boxscore anymore so besides the 11 defensive boards on 21 CT misses, can't tell how many more might have gone out of bounds. Still, out of 11 defensive boards Griner has 5 and Quinn has 3. 3 for the rest of the team. That just cannot happen. Phoenix does at least have 7 o-rebs and they're generally pretty awful in that area. 2 points and 2 rebounds for Dupree in 14 minutes just isn't going to cut it. Especially the two rebounds. If it was just this game, that's one thing. But that's an ongoing thing with Dupree on the defensive glass.

I don't think they don't respect their opponent. I think they went on cruise control instead of let's win the first half and start from scratch again at the half. Mitchell playing point means that her player is gonna post up on her, BG and Pree switching defensively isn't gonna work cause at 6'4" Bone is gonna win that battle and it's not like Pree is a defender. Xargay has to stay out of foul trouble and they have to start getting to the rim and rebounding better.

How many boards does DB have? She and BG have been the rebounders for this team. Pree has been a mess on the glass all season. They were rebounding decently and then they just stopped. Common thread all year.

That's exactly what I mean though.
Cruise control is disrespectful. Thinking you can slack off against an opponent in their own house after playing just one decent quarter is arrogant IMO, and the way this team has been playing since all star they have no basis for being arrogant.

Well... I think in the first quarter they felt they were about to cruise until they were reminded that it was only the 1st quarter and not the 1st half
