Tampa, Florida – Two Carolina Panther cheerleaders spent the night in jail after a rough night in Channelside. The Panthers were in town to play the Bucs Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses say Angela Keathley and Renee Thomas were engaged in some type of sexual activity inside a bathroom stall at Banana Joe's around 2:20 am Sunday. Another woman waiting to use the bathroom got into an argument with the pair.

Police say Thomas punched the woman in the face. When Thomas was arrested, she gave police the name of another Panthers cheerleader.

As we’re sure most of you have heard by now, two Carolina Panthers cheerleaders were arrested in Tampa early Sunday morning after, police say, the two of them were getting them some Sheryl Swoopes in the bathroom. That itself isn’t illegal (thank God!); punching a woman who was complaining about the wait outside the bathroom is.

The story being put it is another Top Cat. How she ended up with Owens' photo ID is anyone's guess. Maybe Owen gave it to her so she could drink. Maybe she's underage. They could be sisters.

Anyway, this story has a perfect backdrop in Carolina Panthers cheeleaders frolicking in Tampa Bay. If it were New England or New York cheerleaders frolicking in San Francisco after a game with the 'niners, you could already hear the Bible Belt fundies preaching about decadent moral values and the threat of another hurricane.

At any rate, after the good folk of North Carolina and Florida keep running the story that these couldn't been the nice Southern girls they knew growing up, they will eviscerate the two cheerleaders, then go back to ignoring the cussin', fightin', and fornicatin' their menfolk do at the bars after football and hockey games.

I'll be interested to see if they can prove that the two were engaged in some kind of sexual activity. My guess is that said woman who needed to go was just tired of waiting and thought it better to accuse them of something "scandalous" to compensate for her obnoxious behavior. Or I could be wrong. Does it really matter?

I don't know why something needs to proved in this case. I believe the woman wanting to use the stall would be just as mad had it been a straight girl getting it on with a guy.
She just wanted to use the stall, not get punched in the face
