I don't think Coop will get that opportunity. NY and LA are major media markets, and in LAs case, they are the most successful franchise in basketball history. I don't think they will go with a coach who is unexperienced on the NBA level. Coop is more likely to get a head coaching position with a team in a city of a lower profile.

Listening to Magic last night on TNT, you could tell that he doesn't think Coop or Abdul-Jabbar (who I think would be a RIDICULOUS OPTION) has the experience. It was clear in his voice that he, Dr. Buss, and Kupchak are going to try and pry Riles away from Miami. Riley wants to coach again, and he respects the job that Van Gundy is doing to replace him there.
