Tenn will not be able to keep Notre Dame scoring low enough to win. Notre Dame has a complete offense, inside and outside. In addition, Tenn's press and trapping defense will be much less effective against an elite team like the Irish. I expect to see tenn abandon their press after the Irish break it for easy baskets.

I've watched quite a bit of SEC BB this season and a lot of contact is let go. That won't happen at Notre Dame. I expect to see Tenn get whistled often on offensive rebounding attempts. Harrison is foul prone and Muffet trains her players well on making it look good. The other thing I noticed is that SEC teams collapse their defense into the paint. That won't work on Monday. If Mabrey and Cable get open looks from the arc the LV's are going to be unable to keep up with the Irish scoring machine.

If Harrison and Massengale can stay out of foul trouble, play 34+ minutes each & if both can score at the upper end of their range the game could be close. Too many if's.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but my hope is that this is a quality, hard played game. Those have been few and far between on national t.v. I think this match up has the potential to be a barn burner...which would be fantastic.

With such evenly matched teams as these home court is indeed an advantage. Would like to see them on a neutral court and perhaps we will in the spring.

Out of curiosity I took a look over at Volnation to see if they had any interesting comments or previews about the game. I was somewhat taken aback by how pessimistic
the tone seemed to be.

don't really care other than I want a clean, hard-fought, well-played, injury-free, close game. Smile

Looks like Loyd is over whatever bug she had for the UNC game and really came to play tonight.

Loyd shook it off, but it looks like she could have some tenderness in her lower back.

40-37 ND at the half

Loyd 18 pts, 1 reb, 2 ast

Graves 14 pts, 4 reb, 1 ast

Tenn missed 20 shots in the half and outrebounded N Dame 11-9 on those misses.

When is the last time TN had really good guards? They seem to be weak at the guard position--for a while. ?

Carter playing pretty well, didn't remember her as much of a shooter but tonight she is hitting a bunch of long shots.

Even though they look like they are going to take a loss, the LV fans have to be happy to see Graves playing so well. She's sort of been inconsistent this year but maybe she can springboard this. If her and Izzy are both playing well they are going to give USC all they can handle.

This will be the last year for a while that u will be able to say that about Tennessee. Probably will have the best backcourt in the country next season. OAN .. Jewel Lloyd Will Be Chosen #2 in 2016 but Will end up winning ROY. Mark my words!

Not exactly a defensive struggle by either team. Antonelli must be in basketball heaven watching this one.

Best and most sophisticated offense by two teams that I've seen all year. Each team created space very well could get good shots almost at will. Difference? ND made a very high percentage of shots while UTenn missed a lot of chippies.

Stephanie White and Beth Mowins are a good analytical team. Virtually none of the meandering and irrelevant social chit-chat that Pam Ward and Sue Bird engaged in the other night.

Jewel Lloyd is the most exciting player to watch in WCBB. Mega Magic!!!
