Is Jeanette Pohlen's rights still with the Fever?

She was an unrestricted free agent, but she re-signed with them earlier this offseason.

It's hard to tell who the bottom 3 or 4 will be. Pretty tough for either DeVaughn or Butler to make this team. Maybe Lucas and Pohlen are competing for one spot. And maybe all of the PG not named January are competing for one spot.

I'm hoping the change of scene will be helpful to MoMo. I thought she would show more than she has to date.

If Zellous is missing the first part of the season, will that mean she counts toward the 12 or will they keep an extra until she appears?

Achonwa Remains Single-Minded as Her Comeback Continues

As long as she is not pushing herself, and realizes that her body isn't going to move exactly as it did in the past and she doesn't get too frustrated I don't think it's too soon. It sounds like she already knows her body isn't going to be exactly the same and her production (physically and in the box scores) will be less than what she is used to so she should already be mentally ready to handle it (presumably speaking, it's hard to prepare yourself for something like that without knowing how it will affect you).

http://lovewomensbasketball.com/2015/05/07/injury-rules-out-marija-rezan-for-croatia-zellous-to-join-on-26th/

Zellous joining the Croats on May 26th, right in the middle of WNBA preseason. Liable to miss anywhere from six to ten regular season games, depending on how far Croatia advance in EuroBasket Women.

It's not just the big stars any more ...

The Allie Quigleys and Shavonte Zellouses of the WNBA world are going to be missed as well.

Well, it is Eurobasket so wasn't that expected? They'll miss Zellous quite a bit. They were already thin at quality guards. What's their rotation now?

eta: I forgot about the trade w/ the Stars for Johnson. I guess we'll see if she's able to produce w/ big minutes. And I know she doesn't have a 3, put I really liked Marshall's game when she was at GT. And she's at the right team for defense first & effort play. That may be her best chance to make a team.

January, Lucas, Carter, Clarendon, Johnson?

Yeah, they'll be missing Z a lot.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them slide Johnson or Coleman over to the 2 while Zellous is out.

Indiana Fever to Stage Guinness World Records Attempt

http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=4972642

Quote:
The Indiana Fever plans to open their 2015 WNBA schedule with a bang - or at least thousands of glowing bright lights - during their home opener on Saturday, June 6, when the club hosts the Minnesota Lynx (7:00 p.m.) during a Guinness World Records; Attempt presented by Papa John's. The Fever plan to establish the record for the most people lighting a glowstick simultaneously at a single venue.

Stephanie White up for any and all challenges with Fever

http://espn.go.com/wnba/story/_/id/12956804/stephanie-white-and-all-challenges-fever

Quote:
it was up to White to decide what kind of staff to choose. Some people, in being elevated to the top spot for the first time, might have opted for younger assistants who'd be prone to be more deferential -- just to make it a little smoother transition to being the one ultimately in charge.

That's not what White wanted, though. She went the opposite route. Goestenkors was a head collegiate coach for 20 years at Duke and then Texas. Kloppenburg, a longtime assistant in both the WNBA and NBA, also has WNBA head-coaching experience from his two seasons at Tulsa. White will turn 38 in June, while Goestenkors is 52 and Kloppenburg 62.

"I'm a firm believer that you surround yourself with people who have more wisdom and see different things," White said. "Not just people who agree with you all the time. I'm not going to get better as a coach, and neither is our team, if I'm not open to being challenged.

Lauren Hill Tribute Planned for Sunday, June 14

http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=4981988

Quote:
On Sunday, June 14 when ESPN2 visits Bankers Life Fieldhouse for a nationally televised rematch of the 2014 WNBA Eastern Conference Finals between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever, the Fever will pay tribute to Lauren Hill, who touched millions of lives worldwide within the past two years during her fight with brain cancer.

Quote:
Throughout the afternoon, special in-game elements and tributes from Fever players will be viewed on the Bankers Life Fieldhouse videoboard, and the Be YOUnique Fund will donate $300 to The Cure Starts Now for every layup scored in the game, by both teams.

Before the game and through halftime, a silent auction will be conducted on the main concourse for donated items from the Indiana Pacers, the Indiana Fever and Fever players. All proceeds from this auction will benefit The Cure Starts Now.

After the game, fans are invited to shoot their own Layups for Lauren. Fans can shoot a layup and make voluntary donations to The Cure Starts Now.

It's probably another keep 13 team, via suspending Zellous until EuroBasket Women is over. Gives them a few weeks to decide who to dump. Although with Achonwa jumping off the the Canadian national team at various points as well, maybe they can just juggle 13 for most of the season.
