The Lynx have a two year window open to win championships now. Why tank when some of your major stars are over 30?

They will never tank period. They are competitors, not manipulators.

4. Tell Maya Moore, during the season, that her wisdom teeth look REAL bad. REALLY bad! OMG Maya go home at once! We insist!

Tada! Two or three very high draft picks in 2016: Reload Carry on.

That's already been suggested by at least two people already, and I disagree. Razz

I'm hoping Mune's post (and the other posts) is satire. Wink

9/19/14
Rachel Jarry scored 8 pts in 2-4 shooting and 4-8 FT (getting to the line!).
They must have her playing PF. She got a team high 9 reb and also recorded
the only blk for the AUS.

I saw that on twitter, and I thought that it was cool players got to see the history of the number they are wearing and perhaps learn about the history of the Opals. I don't know how much if anything is said about the players or history when the jerseys are passed out.

Taylor has been a reliable scorer for the Opals but she won't be going overboard to take extra shots, instead looking to get other teammates involved.

Jarry, 22, is keen to benefit from that stance.

When Taylor missed the London Olympics, Jarry played extra minutes during the tournament and with several veterans now retired, she will try to use that experience in Turkey.

"I see myself fitting in and bringing my defence like always," Jarry said. "But with the mix of young and veteran players in the side, it's time for me to stand up and take some responsibility with some more scoring."

Jarry also questioned her chances of making it to Turkey when she was plagued by knee problems.

"Definitely there was times when I was like, 'Gosh this is going to be touch and go'. I'm still really young and I haven't had that much Opals experience so I didn't expect to be picked on my past," Jarry said.

"I knew I needed to prove myself to make the team so there [were] times I doubted I would make it but hopefully I'm peaking at the right time maybe I've timed it perfectly.

With the Opals' first match against an athletic and aggressive Cuba, both Taylor and Jarry face a physical and mental test.

Jarry believes her injury struggles have made her stronger.

"I'm such a competitive person and all I want to do is be out there playing and training so having those little setbacks along the way was tough but it has probably made me a better person," she said.

According to this thread http://boards.rebkell.net/viewtopic.php?t=81663
the first Rebkell post was made on August 17, 2004. Those early posters saying she wouldn't do well in the WNBA must have high standards, particularly from rookies, as Taurasi was most of the way through a season where she averaged 17 points per game, by August 17th, 2014.

Cagliari reworked their starting lineup.
Now they have Taylor at PF and Liston at SF.

First game of the season today. Here's the boxscore.
Team Lynx ITA lost the game 75-72.

http://www.eurobasket.com/boxScores/Italy/2014/1005_9944_7623.asp

Liston struggled with the 2-pt shot but was 3-6 from three. 3 steals! Defensive demon!
Taylor was very efficient shooting 9-13 from two and 1-1 from three. Shocked

The Secret Weapon is not so secret on this team.
She's Tricia Sims taking 17 shots. Shocked

Its interesting that Liston got so many FT's. Maybe going to the basket, and that's why she didn't shoot that well from two.

Im very happy for Taylor. She's always been a player that works really hard to be better and improve her game....and with her injury issues in college im glad she's healthy and doing well and hopefully her recent success in Italy will continue and eventually translate to the W. Also, 1-1 from three in first two games Shocked im nearly as impressed as when Griner hit a three lol.

Of course it's satire. I'd rather my team suck again like they did back in the day than tank to get a draft pick. That stuff matters to me. I like to root for people I can root for, if you know what I mean.

McKenith Works To Improve

Quote:
McKenith wasnt exactly one of the leaders on the squad, though it was clear she was huge for team morale.
