Here we go, Tul-sa, Here-we-go! Another game, another opportunity. May all you ladies be on fi-yah today! (And see if you can ratchet up the defense a smidge, I think it will help.)

I don't blame him, Wash is on a pace to score 120 points.

with 3/4ths of the season done, why does Tulsa's offensive sets look worse than it did week 1 ?

DC plays really good team defense. Sims isn't generally bothered that terribly by trapping on screen and roll but tonight she is really having trouble with it. Between the points off TOs and just regular fastbreak DC is also outrunning Tulsa badly. The depth advantage probably helps DC in that area.

But you also have to just say Tulsa's transition defense is awful tonight so far and Sims is uncharacteristically struggling on both ends of the court.

Even though Fred gave her a chance, I wouldn't be surprised if Paris doesn't come back. He doesn't run any offense for her, and she's proven herself, so why would she want to re-sign?

EDIT: She just passed up an easy bucket and passed out to hodges for a 3.
Got to be aggressive!

One incentive would be to come back to the one team in the league she could potentially start for if Cambage doesn't return or is traded.

Personnel-wise she could get time with San Antonio but she doesn't fit their system at all.

Wait a minute, do they still have Langhorne's picture outside the Verizon Center? Confused

i cannot believe fred drew that play up..Hooper off of a curl...for the 3?
they had time to go right at the basket for a quick 2.

is it possible that tulsa will not even match last year's 11 wins?

Tulsa plays close but loses late as usual. Looks like LA will back into the fourth seed only because Tulsa and Seattle are playing even worse than the Sparks.

I know the Shock lost, but watching this game I love the fight in this team. One day they will be contenders, because unlike other teams they have heart and a will to win regardless of what the scoreboard says.

which is terrible because LA will not have earned the post season.

Can't recall seeing a player get 16 points while going 0-3 from the line like Currie did tonight. She's good at creating contact. And sometimes creating the illusion of contact.

It looks as if there's only 3 teams in the WNBA who really deserve to be in the playoffs. I keep hoping someone will catch fire.

Yes.

Is that a way of paying homage or not knowing Langhorne isn't even in the state? Laughing

Terrible second half for the Mystics but we'll take the win. Currie was huge even with lousy shooting from the field (0-3) because of free throws (16-1Cool, and she probably saved the game getting the rebound off her shot near the end of the 4th.

Glory Johnson and Paris were extremely physical, like wow physical. Meeseman was mauled all night, taking a hard shot to her left eye that'll be quite a shiner tomorrow.

Great atmosphere in Verizon tonight, with the lower bowl pretty full. LOTS of Diggins fans in attendance.

It was Diaper Drive night AND Pride night, not that you'd know about the latter. Mystics website had nothing about Pride. STHs were sent emails yesterday to come to the game early for Pride, which consisted of the same stuff going on anyway (poster making, face painting, etc.) There was one announcement about "DC Pride" on the jumbotron.

Clearly the Mystics must be ashamed to publicly recognize the many LGBT fans who've supported the team for years and years. Thibault made a subtle salute (maybe) by wearing a multi-colored tie. All in all, Pride night was pretty much in the closet.
