agreed cant really choose a winner on this one. The liberty fighting to keep their playoff spot and the storm fighting to stay along with LA for that last spot

NYL start playing at bedtime and are in a back-to-back. Storm are good at home. They have Waltiea Rolle. No excuses, Seattle.

I think the Libs have the intangibles, a supporting cast who left the team high and dry last night who need to prove something, a white hot Charles, a bonkers scenario involving games in hand that put the Libs in playoff positioning and good momentum with the next game after this being one you just back off tip your hat and get ready for DC at home (yes the merc are THAT good)

The Storm have the tangibles...Home court, libs on a back to back, libs coming east to west and up north from a tough fought LA game. Will that be enough...the libs abysmal road record say yes sir and not even that close.

But I think this will be another party like its 1999 defensive low shooting percentage scrum...that's advantage Libs...But not by much...I think it will come down to Bird vs Pondexter, aka actually aging vs banged up she feels like she's 40.

Ill pick libs but this is a toss up and normally toss ups go to the home team, gonna be a close game, but one for oldschool fans only.

From an NY standpoint this game presents completely different challenges from last night. Last night you're going against an athletic team that overplays, traps, and lives off of forcing TOs and trying to transition them into points. Tonight it's a team that plays less aggressively in those terms but will trap the pick and roll physically and will attack Charles more aggressively and decisively than LA did. That's to say, even though LA doubled often, they didn't do it early enough or force Charles far enough from the basket as often as they would have liked to limit higher percentage opportunities. Of course, she also had some putbacks off offensive rebounds, which helped. But still, I think Seattle will work in a more physical way to force her away from the hoop. If I recall, Lang guarded Charles mostly last time...pretty successfully, and far more physically than the younger Lang would have. This is a different Charles though, so whether it's Lang or Little and combos of other players, Charles presents much more of a challenge now than she did then.

Where I think NY has to capitalize better against Seattle than they did at MSG is to attack Bird on screen and roll. You figure in a back to back Cappie probably won't shoot much until the 4th quarter. That means you have to capitalize on the Cruz/Bird matchup. Conversely, in the MSG game, Cruz struggled defensively against Bird as much as she against any guard all year, primarily because Bird moves so well without the ball and partially because NY's screen/roll defense against Seattle was awful for the first three quarters. I think this matchup is really pivotal. This doesn't even account for the fact that Wright usually does well against Cappie even when Cappie is healthier. So I'm thinking we have to make up for it with either Cruz and/or Rodgers to accentuate the likelihood of balancing the scoring.

Then we will see how NY chooses to defend Lang and Little and how often Seattle doubles Charles and off of which player(s). As Happy Cappie said this is an old-school kind of game, with the kind of chess match where matchups can probably make that much more of a difference in the outcome. It's not likely to be explosively exciting, but if you're an old school fan there should be elements of this game that one can appreciate nonetheless. Particularly if both teams show up. Both teams have a tendency of being wildly inconsistent, which makes this game that much harder to predict.

Well, Seattle came to play. If this Liberty team beat LA yesterday, I'm worried about the shellacking that LA is getting later.

Actually working for me after last night's breakdown. There seemed to be one crash when they re-set something early in the first quarter, but otherwise okay.

Thanks Rich. It gave me nothing but lines, then froze after I refreshed it. Third time's the charm because I've had no problems since.

Two instances where it buffered and bounced around to various portions of the game. That's on the center court app via Apple TV AirPlay.

It may have been the worst thing for NY. Johnson is destroying Cruz. Of late Cruz has played much better at home than on the road. Johnson only has 5 points but has broken down Cruz repeatedly for assists and has harassed her into a non-factor on offense.

I'd tend to think we will see more of Rodgers in the second half.
