That trade is lopsided to begin with, and yet Minnesota wants more??. Not sure why the Cavs are so desperate to get Love when they have all that young talent to built around.

Because young talent takes time to build, and the hope would be that the talent would mature into what Love already is. Remember Love is only 25 so he is still young too. This means both Love and James would be in their prime together for a few years. If you wait on your others to develop, James could be on the other side of his prime before they enter theirs.

But think about what is on offer. Love is the single best asset in that trade. Wiggins *may* become a superstar. Bennet was disappointing last year so does't have a ton of value right now, and that pick is likely to be near the bottom of the first round since the Cavs with Love are going to be title favorites.

I imagine the Wolves will take this deal if they can't get Golden State or another team into a bidding war. But the Wolves have a ton of leverage right now since they have the player multiple teams want. No need to jump on the first offer.

And the Wolves end up with a great package: Wiggins, Bennet, and Thad Young alonv with a 6.3 million trade exemption.

Flip did a great job maximizing what he could get for Love. I'm pretty excited to watch this young team grow. They will likey end up in the lottery the next few years, but ghey have some huge upside to grow into.

Gonna let KG retire where he began his hall of fame career. Nice gesture but probably not one of the best uses of one of the best assets on the market.

Best assets? I hope you mean KG...

Thad Young is a decent player, but his contract is awful. He has a player option for next year worth around $10 mil. After his performance this year, it is unlikely a team will pay him more, so there is a good bet he sticks around and forces the Nets to overpay him.

This was win/win for the Wolves. Got KG back for the Retirement Tour (though there is talk about a 2 year extension), while getting rid of a hefty salary. Though it does confirm that the Wolves blew it by giving up the Heat's 1st rounder for Young as part of the Love trade. Should have just kept it a two team trade with Cleveland.

Well I heard there was a rumor that KG wants to buy a piece of the T-Wolves once he retires. Could this be a "prodigal son coming home" "get back in the good graces of the fans" kind of thing? Along with of course the circle of life thing of him ending his career where he started?
