certain teams could go out on the court with a baseball bat and start kneeing players and it would be ok and it doesn't really matter where they play (you just notice it more on their home court). Seattle is one of those teams.... LA is another. you could make the argument for Minny but they're just so good all by themselves that it's usually not even a factor |
I agree. I must say that Seattle, L.A., and Minny are extremely physical. It's annoying. I used to argue my sister down about this, especially since she loves L.A. And all 3 of these teams can beat BG until she's bleeding and she'd still be without a damn free throw at the end. It's annoying as all hell.

Sandy took BG out for what reason???? I don't like when she takes BG out. It's not like she has 3 fouls. She has 1. Put her and DT back in.

in regards to this being "another" blowout on ESPN... well you can never really predict when one is going to occur. sometimes yes, but you never really know. and i think the reasoning behind scheduling this game for national tv was 1) the past greatness of Seattle 2) the past great history/rivalry between Phoenix and Seattle 3) the assumption that the return of the Great Sue Bird would mean awesomely wonderful things for Seattle. point 3 hasn't really gone as hoped. but that's not really Sue's fault.
you could chalk this up to the idiocy and difficulty in predicting which games are suitable for national tv. perhaps it was thought that this game would be a better, tighter match up, but it hasn't been. maybe ATL and Minny got bumped because for some reason it was thought to maybe be a blowout and an 8 year old NBA ASG would be more impressive. that was a bad call as that was an outstanding, close game with history making play from Maya that went into 2 OTs. the life of tv execs.... |

I'm happy to see Lang playing well again. Seems like Agler has made some adjustments so she can play her game.

Brondello why the hell is this the quarter of the bench players???? No. Put BG and DT back in. The offense is so ugly right now.

Or that the general basketball fan would rather watch Griner and Tauasi than just about anyone in the league no matter how good the other games might actually be.

no need to have her in there to get whacked around with the score being where it is. leave B and D on the bench unless Seattle makes some kind of miracle recovery. which isn't likely.
ETA: and our bench needs the playing time and "in game practice" if we're going to make a serious run to a championship.... meaning we're going to need help past the starters and Phillips if we want to get past Minnesota. Because no one else is going to do that. prior to the season, just looking at the roster, i would have said maybe LA can take them out so we don't have to worry. that's not going to happen now. the only thing standing between the Mercury getting to the Finals is the Lynx. i don't care if they're back in reality now they're still dangerous and a serious wall to get past. and we're going to need everyone to do it |

Clark was being dirty and was grabbing and twisting. |
well i saw that. not sure i would call it dirty so much as overly aggressive. but it looked like it was really injured. guess not but sometimes you don't know if you have a break or a sprain until the next day. still looks like she's in pain even though she stayed in the game |

Phoenix shoots well from the free throw line because they are tall.
