That was somehow reminiscent for me of how sports used to be. It was as important a moment for a) her and b) the sport as any sporting event ever was for any athlete or sport. It was epic. And then after, here in LA, there was no trophy ceremony or anything at all, just an immediate cut to a Larry King half-hour infomercial. This is immediately following the US Open. So that alone tells you where the sport is. Also, on the Zite app, the sports section, there's probably 35 or 40 articles in that (and each section) almost seemed intentional that there wasn't a mention of the women's US Open being decided on Sunday and in such a remarkable way. Nevertheless, Wie can easily be a major breakthrough athlete for women's sports.
