Growing up in the '90s, I have to put Space Jam. I just have to.

But Sandlot is clearly the best.

I protest this poll because it doesn't have the greatest sports movie of all time listed as an option...

Slap Shot!

In fact, there are no movies at all representing the best sport of them all. Hockey.

And no Bull Durham or Field of Dreams?

i actually never really liked Love and Basketball and to this day can't figure out why people are so crazy about it.

but a reason to vote for Space Jam (per Elena Delle Donne):

Quote:
A movie that stars both Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny has to be the best sports movie ever

a reason to vote for The Blind Side, with opinions on Sandra Bullock (per Brittney Griner):

Quote:
I love when sports movies are based on a true story, and the fact this one was about Michael Oher, who still plays in the NFL, made it that much cooler

Quote:
Sandra Bullock won a Best Actress Award in 2010 which made Griner happy: Sandra Bullock killed the role.

from the list i voted for Happy Gilmore, one of Adam Sandler's better movies plus Bob Barker acting like a bad ass. Very Happy if Radio had been listed I'd have voted for that.

Hoosiers is the best ever. Very nostalgic movie, I remember those little gyms and the caravans to away games.

If Happy Gilmore is a sports movie then so is Caddy Shack.

IDk which is my favorite but would like to throw in

A League of Their Own
Bend it like Beckham
The Bad News Bears (the 1970s one not the remake)
Bull Durham
Semi Pro
White Men Can't Jump
Breaking Away
Chariots of Fire
Million Dollar Baby
Hoop Dreams
and Rocky

I love J-Spoon's list because it includes Bend It Like Beckham, Chariots of Fire, and Hoop Dreams. But my favorite sports movie is The Hustler (1961), with Paul Newman, Piper Laurie, George C. Scott, and Jackie Gleason in a remarkable performance as the famed, real-life pool hustler Minnesota Fats.

My favorites were Love and Basketball, Coach Carter and Bend it like Beckham. I even wanted to start playing soccer and quit basketball in high school after 10 years of playing. Good that was no team around, b/c when I actually tried two years later I figured that handling the ball with hands is much easier:D

What could be better in any sports movie than Ray Walston as The Devil. Smile

I voted for Hooseirs.

No one mentioned racing - and for good reason. Most racing movies have been terrible. However, Rush was a very good exception to that.

Perfect Profile

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098079/

Quote:
Brad Johnson is a successful young manager who owns a millions dollar heavy company. He believes the key to his success was trusting in the forecasts of his computers. So he wants to use the same method to improve his basketball team. He computes the perfect profile and after a long search finally finds Teri Williams. However there's a problem: she's a woman! Will she be the first professional female in NBA?

Starring Nancy Lieberman!
